An insulating filler composed of a mixed powder in which a hydrophobic fumed oxide powder having an average primary particle size D.sub.1, which is smaller than an average primary particle size D.sub.2, is adhered to the surface of a magnesium oxide powder and/or a nitride-based inorganic powder having the average primary particle size D.sub.2, wherein: the ratio D.sub.1/D.sub.2 of the average primary particle size D.sub.1 to the average primary particle size D.sub.2 is 6×10.sup.−5 to 3×10.sup.−3; the volume resistivity of the mixed powder is 1×10.sup.11 Ω.Math.m or more; and the content ratio of the hydrophobic fumed oxide powder in the mixed powder is 5-30 mass %. Also provided is an insulating material in which the above-mentioned insulating filler is contained in a resin molded body.

UPCYCLING PROCESS FOR PROCESSING SILICONE WASTES

Upcycling process for producing acidic, end-equilibrated siloxanes bearing acetoxy groups and having chain lengths of greater than 3 silicon atoms from end-of-life silicones by thermal digestion in an acidic reaction medium comprising acetic anhydride, acetic acid and at least one further Brønsted acid having a pKa of <4, the digestion taking place in a reactor having a volume of at least 1 liter.

MULTI-LAYER FIBER OPTIC CABLE WITH A CURED GELLING MATERIAL AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME
20230243695 · 2023-08-03 ·

A fiber optic cable in the present disclosure comprises: an outer tube having an inner surface and an outer surface; a fiber in metal tube (FIMT) comprising one or more optical fibers, wherein the FIMT is disposed within the outer tube, and wherein the outer surface of the FIMT and the inner surface of the outer tube form an annular space; and a cured gelling material in the annular space. By incorporating the cured gelling material into the annular space, fluid migration through the annular space can be reduced, and sheer stress for strain coupling of the FIMT and the outer tube can be increased.

The invention described herein generally pertains to a composition that includes a silyl-terminated polymer having silyl groups linked to a polymer backbone via triazole. The silyl-terminated polymer is a reaction product of a functionalized polymer backbone and a functionalized silane. The polymer backbone includes a first functional group, which may be one of an azide or an alkyne. The functionalized silane includes a second functional group may also be one of an azide or an alkyne, but is also different from the first functional group. The functionalized polymer backbone is reacted with the functionalized silane in the presence of a metal catalyst.
