PLANT EXTRACT COMPOSITIONS FOR FORMING PROTECTIVE COATINGS

Described herein are methods of preparing cutin-derived monomers, oligomers, or combinations thereof from cutin-containing plant matter. The methods can include heating the cutin-derived plant matter in a solvent at elevated temperature and pressure. In some preferred embodiments, the methods can be carried out without the use of additional acidic or basic species.

LOOSE WAX POWDER AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING SUCH A POWDER

The present invention relates to a loose wax powder obtained from renewable materials, in which the particles have a particle size such that: the D90v is less than 20 microns the SPAN calculated by the formula (D90-D10)/D50 is less than 1.8 the volume percentage of particles with a diameter of at least 30 microns is less than 5%. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing such a powder.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING POROUS PARTICLES BY MEANS OF A HYBRID PROCESS OF ATOMISATION VIA DRYING-COOLING

The invention relates to a method for producing particles with pore structures, by means of a hybrid process of atomization via drying-cooling, from a water-in-oil-type emulsion of a composition of a non-solubilized and in melt state matrix. The production method comprises: i) forming a water-in-oil-type emulsion consisting of a composition of a solvent that is aqueous or soluble in water (dispersed phase) and a composition of a non-solubilized and in melt state matrix (continuous phase); ii) forming discrete particles from the emulsion via atomization, using a flow of gas at high pressure and temperature; iii) immediately removing the solvent via evaporation; and iv) subsequently cooling the formed discrete particles, resulting in porous particles that are substantially free from solvents.

This invention relates to colloidally-protected, wax-based microstructures and dispersions thereof. More specifically, this invention relates to powders prepared from colloidally-protected, wax-based microstructure dispersions and process of making such powders. This invention also relates to a various end-use compositions comprising such powders from wax-based colloidal dispersions.

WAX-BASED COMPOSITIONS, ARTICLES MADE THEREFROM, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE

Oral treatment devices formed from wax-based compositions that are thermally stable when formed into a three-dimensional shape to a temperature of at least 45° C. and plastically deformable at room temperature (25° C.). The wax-based compositions include a wax fraction homogeneously blended with a polymer fraction. The wax fraction includes at least one wax. The polymer fraction includes at least one polymer selected such that, when the wax and polymer are homogeneously blended together, they yield a wax-based composition having the desired properties of thermal stability and plastic deformability. Oral treatment devices are dimensionally stable to a temperature of at least 40° C. without external support and can be plastically deformed in a user's mouth to become at least partially customized to the size and shape of user's unique dentition and/or an appliance in a user's mouth.
