Wax composition comprising linear hydrocarbons, branched hydrocarbons and oxidized hydrocarbons, aqueous dispersion thereof, method to produce such wax composition and dispersion and use thereof as Carnauba wax replacement
The invention relates to a wax composition comprising linear hydrocarbons, branched hydrocarbons and oxidized hydrocarbons, wherein the composition is characterized by a congealing point from 68? C. to 110? C., an acid number in the range of 3 to 30 mg KOH/g, a saponification number of 20 to 90 mg KOH/g and a needle penetration at 25? C. of below 15 1/10 mm. The invention further relates to an aqueous dispersion comprising the wax composition and a method of manufacture of both the wax composition and the dispersion. The wax composition can be used to fully or partially substitute Carnauba wax or Candelilla wax.
ELECTROMAGNETICALLY-INDUCED CEMENT CONCRETE CRACK SELF-HEALING DIISOCYANATE MICROCAPSULES AND THEIR PREPARATION METHOD
Electromagnetically-induced cement concrete crack self-healing diisocyanate microcapsules include raw materials, in parts by weight, comprising 15-55 parts of petroleum resin, 5-10 parts of paraffin, 5-10 parts of polyethylene wax, 3-10 parts of magnetic iron powder and 20-67 parts of diisocyanate. The diisocyanate microcapsules use the diisocyanate as a core material, and the petroleum resin/paraffin/polyethylene wax/magnetic iron powder mixture as the shell of the capsule. When micro cracks occur in the concrete, the crack propagation can break partial of the microcapsule inside, the diisocyanate inside the microcapsules flows out and diffuses into the crack and is subjected to a solidifying reaction with water in the concrete, so that the crack is repaired in time; and for the microcapsules that are not broken by cracks, external electromagnetic field can be applied to melt the shell to release the diisocyanate inside, thereby diffusing into cracks and solidify with water to repair them.
Plant extract compositions for forming protective coatings
Described herein are methods of preparing cutin-derived monomers, oligomers, or combinations thereof from cutin-containing plant matter. The methods can include heating the cutin-derived plant matter in a solvent at elevated temperature and pressure. In some preferred embodiments, the methods can be carried out without the use of additional acidic or basic species.
PELLETIZATION OF A POLYMER STABILIZER MIXTURE
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a pellet in a pellet mill, which method comprises the steps of (A) pressing a mixture for compaction by a roller through a nozzle to obtain a strand, and (B) comminuting the strand to obtain the pellet, wherein the mixture for compaction comprises (i) 87 to 97 wt. % of a polymer stabilizer mixture polymer stabilizer mixture, which comprises the polymer stabilizers (i-1) 62 to 72 wt. % of tris(2,4-ditert-butylphenyl) phosphite (CAS-No. 31570-04-4), (i-2) 28 to 38 wt. % of tetrakis-[3-(3,5-ditert-butyl-4-hydroxy-phenyl)-propionyloxymethyl]me-thane (CAS-No. 6683-19-8), and wt. % of the polymer stabilizers (i-1) and (i-2) are based on the weight of the polymer stabilizer mixture, and (ii) 3 to 13 wt. % of a processing aid, which is a polyethylene and which possesses a weight average molecular weight above 2500 Da and below 16000 Da. The pellet is useful for a dust-free handling of its polymer stabilizer mixture at a manufacturing of a stabilized polymer. Furthermore, a method for stabilizing a polymer, which is a polyolefin, a polystyrene or a mixture thereof, is disclosed, which comprises the dosing of the pellet to the polymer.
Microcrystalline Wax/Pre-Mixture Liquid Sealant Composition, Method of Manufacture and Methods of Use
A method and composition are shown for treating a variety of different substrates with a sealant coating composition which provides a long lasting protective barrier on a selected substrate. First a sealant composition is formulated by combining a micro-crystalline wax with an organic solvent pre-mixture blend. Next, the selected substrate is contacted with the sealant composition and the solvent blend is allowed to flash away, leaving behind a substantially solvent free micro-crystalline wax residue barrier. The solvent blend can be a mixture of hexane and xylene but is not limited to these two particular solvents.
Mineral wool insulation
Mineral wool insulation products are provided. The mineral wool insulation includes a plurality of mineral wool fibers and a wax emulsion applied to the mineral wool fibers. The wax emulsion imparts excellent water resistance and thermal performance properties to the mineral wool insulation.

FLEXIBLE PHASE CHANGE MATERIAL COMPOSITE FOR THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
A thermal management composite, comprising a phase change material within a carbon or graphite matrix. The matrix is coated with a polymer coating to improve flexibility. The matrix can be a molded carbon or graphite material or a carbon or graphite cloth.
Device and method of manufacturing a device for detecting hydrocarbons
An example a method of manufacturing a film is provided. The method involves dissolving a backbone material in a non-aqueous solvent to form a non-aqueous solution. The method further involves adding the non-aqueous solution to an aqueous solution to form a liquid-liquid interface and injecting a particulate proximate to the liquid-liquid interface the non-aqueous solution is then evaporated to form a film containing the particulate. The film may be used in devices such as sensor devices for detecting hydrocarbons.
