LEAK RESISTANT ARTICLE
Provided, among other things is a leak-resistant elastomeric barrier comprising: an elastomeric barrier comprising elastomeric polymer, having two sides, and coated on at least a portion of a first side with a highly hydrophobic coating such that the initial contact angle with water is about 130 or more, and that contact angle does not decay by more than about 10% over 40 minutes. In embodiments the highly hydrophobic coating comprises hydrophobic silica particles are disposed on a hydrophobic coating disposed on the first side, for example with a hydrophobic coating comprises that a fluorocarbon compound, a polypropylene wax, a polyethylene wax, or a mixture thereof.
Conducting polymer nanoparticle composites
The present disclosure relates to the preparation and application of conducting polymers nanoparticle composites. Specifically, the disclosure relates to the preparation of polyaniline, or similar conducting polymers, as polymer nanoparticles on substrates prepared by chemical polymerization of aniline on the surface or inside the pores of the substrate. Isolated polymerization, e.g. inside the pores, avoids the formation of aggregate polyaniline nanoparticles. The process of the present disclosure may be used for both inorganic and organic porous solids that are water insoluble, acid resistant, and resistant to oxidants such as ammonium persulfate. The conducting polymer nanoparticle composites may be used in a variety of applications, including as anticorrosion coatings.

An article is described comprising a first film layer comprising polylactic acid polymer (semicrystalline polylactic acid polymer; amorphous polylactic acid polymer; or a mixture thereof); a second (e.g. polyvinyl acetate) polymer having a Tg of at least 25 C.; plasticizer. In some embodiment, the film layer further comprises inorganic pigment and/or hydrolysis stabilizer. In other embodiments, the film has a net melting endotherm, H.sub.nm1, of less than 10 J/g. Also described are methods of making a graphic film.
