The present disclosure provides a toughened resin composition, which includes: (A) a toughened and modified compound, which includes a polybenzoxazine compound, an anhydride grafted olefin polymer, and a diisocyanate compound; and (B) a thermosetting polymer; wherein, in the toughened and modified compound, the diisocyanate compound forms a bond with the polybenzoxazine compound and the anhydride grafted olefin polymer, respectively. The present disclosure has high toughness and excellent mechanical properties; thus, it may have a wide range of applications in the fields of electronics, aerospace, and the like.

A polymer composition for producing gel extruded articles is described. The polymer composition contains polyethylene particles combined with a plasticizer and one or more surface tension reducing techniques. In one aspect, the surface tension reducing technique includes adding a filler or chemical component to the polyethylene polymer for increasing wettability. Alternatively, the surface tension reducing technique can be a surface treatment, such as a plasma treatment. Polymer articles made in accordance with the present disclosure can have dramatically increased wettability properties. In one embodiment, the polymer composition is used to form a porous membrane for use as a separator in electronic devices.

The present invention relates to a polymer composition comprising between 30 and 45 wt. % of polyamides and/or ethylene vinyl alcohols and between 70 and 50 wt. % of polypropylenes, based on the combined weight of polyamides and/or ethylene vinyl alcohols and polypropylenes; wherein the polypropylene forms a first phase having a first melting endotherm in differential scanning calorimetry and wherein the polyamides and/or ethylene vinyl alcohols form a second phase having a second melting endotherm in differential scanning calorimetry; wherein the tallest differential scanning calorimetry exothermic crystallisation peak (T.sub.pc) has an area under the curve of at least 80% of the total area under the curve between a temperature of 200 and 50° C.; wherein the temperature of the tallest differential scanning calorimetry exothermic crystallisation peak (T.sub.pc) is between 85° C. and 110° C.

The present disclosure relates a low-toxicity flame-retardant polyolefin-based insulating resin composition, a low-toxicity flame-retardant polyolefin-based insulated electric cable, and a method of manufacturing the insulated electric cable. The low-toxicity flame-retardant polyolefin-based insulating resin composition includes 100 parts by weight of a base resin and 120 to 140 parts by weight of a flame retardant. The base resin includes 20% to 40% by weight of polyethylene ethyl acrylate, 20% to 40% by weight of polyolefin elastomer, and 30% to 40% by weight of a linear low-density polyethylene resin grafted with maleic anhydride. The flame retardant is magnesium hydroxide that is surface-treated with a silane coupling agent. With the use of the composition, the low-toxicity flame-retardant insulated wire exhibiting good electrical insulation and anti-scratch characteristics and having good appearance can be obtained.

The thermoplastic resin composition for refrigerant transporting piping is composed of: a matrix containing a thermoplastic resin; and a domain containing a rubber dispersed in the matrix, and is characterized in that the thermoplastic resin has a melting point of 150° C. or higher, the rubber is a butyl-based rubber or an olefin-based rubber, the matrix contains a viscosity stabilizer, the thermoplastic resin composition contains a processing aid and at least one selected from the group consisting of a phenylenediamine-based anti-aging agent, a quinoline-based anti-aging agent, and a trihydric alcohol having a triazine skeleton, and at least a portion of the rubber is crosslinked.

The present invention provides a hard coat film having excellent adhesion to a hard coat layer when a cycloolefin polymer film is used as a base material.

The hard coat film of the present invention comprises a hard coat layer containing an ionizing radiation curable resin laminated on at least one surface of a cycloolefin polymer base film through a primer layer. This primer layer contains a modified polyolefin resin in which a polyolefin resin is graft-modified with an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof, and a (meth)acrylic acid ester. In this modified polyolefin resin, the graft weight of the α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or derivative thereof is 0.4 to 7 wt. % when the amount of the modified polyolefin resin is taken as 100 wt. %.

Films for medical devices and/or packaging include polyethylene-poly(ethylene oxide) amphiphilic graft copolymers (PE-g-PEO) in their base polymer formulations of polyethylene and poly(ethylene oxide). The films may be treated to include a nitric-oxide releasing agent incorporated into the PE-g-PEO. Also, microbial agents for inclusion in medical devices are provided, which comprise: an olefin-poly(ethylene oxide) amphiphilic graft copolymer, wherein a portion of the poly(ethylene oxide) comprises end groups converted to a nitric oxide-releasing agent. The amphiphilic graft copolymer of the microbial agents may comprise a polyethylene-poly(ethylene oxide) amphiphilic graft copolymer (PE-g-PEO), a polypropylene-poly(ethylene oxide) amphiphilic graft copolymer (PP-g-PEO), or mixtures thereof.
