A polyphenylene ether resin composition includes (A) polyphenylene ether, and (B) a block copolymer including a butadiene block having a molar ratio of a 1,2-bonding structure to a 1,4-bonding structure of 80:20 to 100:0 and a styrene block. The number average molecular weight (Mn) of the component (A) may be 1,000 to 7,000, the weight ratio of the styrene block to the butadiene block in the component (B) may be 10:90 to 80:20, and the weight average molecular weight (Mw) of the component (B) may be 2,000 to 100,000.

A polyphenylene sulfide resin composition includes a polyphenylene sulfide resin (A); an aromatic vinyl compound block copolymer (B) containing at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of a carboxyl group, an acid anhydride group, a hydroxyl group, an amino group, an epoxy group and an isocyanate group; and an alkoxysilane compound (C) containing at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of an epoxy group, an amino group and an isocyanate group; wherein a phase structure of the polyphenylene sulfide resin composition is a sea-island structure in which the polyphenylene sulfide resin (A) forms a sea phase, and the aromatic vinyl compound block copolymer (B) forms an island phase dispersed in a number average dispersed particle size of 1,000 nm or less.

Moreover, an article may be made from the resin composition, which comprises a prepreg, a resin film, a laminate or a printed circuit board. The resin composition or the article made therefrom may achieve improvement in one or more properties including Z-axis ratio of thermal expansion, thermal resistance after moisture absorption, dissipation factor, and dissipation factor aging variation under moisture and heat.

The resins or masterbatch concentrate composition enable a number of product reforming processes, including but not limited to thermoforming, profile extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, blow filming, film casting, and spinning into articles of different shapes and geometries or overmolding on plastic substrates that can resist surface adsorption of microbes after solidification.
