Multilayer films
There is provided a multilayer film comprising a starch layer and at least one other layer. The multilayer film has excellent barrier properties. The starch layer comprises a modified starch having a degree of substitution less than 1.5. Suitable other layers include polyolefins. The multilayer film finds use in packaging, particularly in packaging foodstuffs.
Structure for producing cast
A structure for manufacturing castings, containing an inorganic fiber, a layered clay mineral, and an inorganic particle other than the layered clay mineral and having an organic content of 5 mass % or lower or having a mass loss of 5 mass % or lower when heated at 1000° C. for 30 minutes. The inorganic particle preferably contains one or more selected from obsidian, graphite, and mullite. The inorganic fiber preferably contains carbon fiber. The inorganic fiber preferably has an average length of 0.5 to 15 mm. The layered clay mineral preferably contains one or more selected from bentonite and montmorillonite.

METHODS FOR POLISHING FLOORING SURFACES
A method for treating a surface of flooring includes applying a composition that includes a silicate to a surface of the flooring and, while the composition is present on the surface, polishing or burnishing the surface. The silicate may be a lithium polysilicate and/or a colloidal silica. The composition may further include a surfactant and/or a leveling agent. When the composition is applied to the surface of the flooring, gravity may enable it to spread substantially evenly across the surface. The acts of applying and polishing or burnishing may be repeated. Such a treatment may result in a surface that has a glossiness of at least 80, as measured by a gloss meter set to a 60° angle of incidence.
POLYPROPYLENE COMPOSITION
The invention is directed to a polypropylene composition, to a three-dimensional article comprising said polypropylene composition, and to the use of said composition for automotive articles. The polypropylene composition of the invention comprises: 40-90% by total weight of the composition of a polymer blend comprising polypropylene having a melt flow index as measured according to ISO 1133 at 230° C. and 2.16 kg of 2.0-100 g/10 min; 5-25% by total weight of the composition of one or more plastomers; 0.5-25% by total weight of the composition of mineral filler selected from the group consisting of phyllosilicates, mica or wollastonite; and 0.2-4% by total weight of the composition of glass fibres having an average fibre diameter in the range of 5-30 μm.
