Provided is a PSA sheet that allows reduction of the dependence on fossil-resource-based materials as the PSA sheet at large while having good processability. Provided is a PSA sheet having a substrate layer comprising a polyester resin, and a PSA layer placed on at least one face of the substrate layer. At least 50% of all carbons in the PSA layer are biomass-derived carbons. The polyester resin comprises biomass-derived carbons.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING ORGANIC POLYMERIC MATERIALS FROM THE DELETERIOUS EFFECTS OF EXPOSURE TO UV-C LIGHT

Polymer compositions for making stabilized polymeric articles that are resistant to at least one deleterious effect of discoloration, cracking, or crazing upon exposure to UV-C (190-280 nm) light are provided herein, wherein the polymer compositions include: (i) an organic polymeric material; and (ii) a stabilizer composition comprising: an antioxidant selected from the group consisting of hindered phenols, phosphites and phosphonites, and mixtures thereof; and a light stabilizer selected from the group consisting of hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), UV absorbers (UVA), hindered benzoates, and mixtures thereof, even where barium compounds (such as barium salts) are absent from the stabilizer composition, and with the proviso that the HALS is not bis(2,2,6,6,-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate (TINUVIN™ 770) alone. At least one of reduced discoloration, cracking, or crazing upon exposure to UV-C light is associated with the use of the light stabilizer in combination with the antioxidant compared to the antioxidant in the absence of the light stabilizer. Methods of stabilizing organic polymeric materials against the deleterious effects of UV-C light by adding to the organic polymeric materials the antioxidant and the light stabilizer, are also provided.

A curable composition comprising: i) a glycidyl ether of a novolac, comprising or consisting of moieties having the formula (I), wherein —R.sub.a is either always hydrogen or always methyl; —B is either always *—CH2-** or always formula (A); —a fraction of 0.8 to 0.99 of the Y moieties are essentially —O-glycidyl, this fraction being designated as x, and the remainder of the Y moieties, this fraction being designated as (1-x), are divalent bridging spacers of the structure *—O—CH.sub.2—CH(OH)—CH.sub.2—O—** connecting two moieties according to above formula (I); and—n is a number in the range of 0.1 to 3.0; and wherein said novolac glycidyl ether has an epoxy equivalent weight FEW in the range of 160 to 270 g/eq. and the average number of epoxy groups per molecule of novolac glycidyl ether (I), designated as f, is in the range of 2.1 to 5.0; ii) dicyandiamide; and iii) an urea derivative of the formula (II). This composition is stable upon storage at room temperature and fire-retardant. It can be used for preparation of prepregs and in core filling, particularly in the aerospace field.

An (electron beam)-curable (EBC) formulation comprising an EBC polyolefin compound having a crystallinity of from 0 to less than 50 weight percent (wt %) and/or having a density of 0.930 gram per cubic centimeter (g/cm.sup.3) or less; and an alkenyl-functional monocyclic organosiloxane (“silicon-based coagent”). The present invention provides water-based primer compositions comprising polyolefin type adhesion promoters. Preferably, the polyolefin type adhesion promoter is a maleated polyolefin type adhesion promoter. The primer compositions improve adhesion of water-based inks and coatings to low-treatment substrates.

MOISTURE CURABLE ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS

An adhesive composition for use in flooring applications that includes a moisture curable polymer system; a calcium carbonate filler system having a first spheroidal particle of calcium carbonate having an equivalent spherical mean diameter of 70 nanometer (nm) to 15 micrometer (μm) and a second spheroidal particle of calcium carbonate having an equivalent spherical mean diameter of greater than 15 μm to 200 μm; a seed oil based fatty acid ester; and a silane based adhesion promoter. The adhesive composition provides low viscosity along with high shear resistance, which helps to retain the troweled ridges to enable maximum coverage.

Electronic Module

An electronic module that comprises a housing that receives at least one electronic component is disclosed. The housing contains a polymer composition that includes an electromagnetic interference filler distributed within a polymer matrix, wherein the electromagnetic interference filler includes a plurality of carbon fibers and the polymer matrix contains a thermoplastic polymer. Further, the composition exhibits an electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of about 30 decibels or more, as determined in accordance with ASTM D4935-18 at a frequency of 5 GHz and thickness of 1 millimeter, and an in-plane thermal conductivity of about 1 W/m-K or more, as determined in accordance with ASTM E 1461-13.

Polyethylene Pipe Resin with High Resistance to Slow Crack Growth

The present invention relates to a polyethylene composition comprising a base resin which comprises (A) a first ethylene homo- or copolymer fraction, and (B) a second ethylene-hexene-1 copolymer fraction, wherein fraction (A) has a lower molecular weight than fraction (B) and wherein fraction (B) is present in an amount of from 51.0 to 58.5 wt. %, preferably 52.0 to 57.5 wt. %, more preferably 53.0 to 57.0 wt. % based on the total weight of the base resin, wherein fraction (B) of the base resin has a content of units derived from hexene-1 from 0.80 to 1.45 mol %, preferably of from 0.82 to 1.35 mol % and more preferably of from 0.85 to 1.30 mol %, wherein the base resin has a number average molecular weight Mn of 8,500 g/mol or higher, and wherein the polyethylene composition has a melt flow rate MFRs from 0.10 to 0.30 g/10 min, preferably from 0.15 to 0.28, and still more preferably from 0.16 to 0.25 g/10 min, to a process for producing the polyethylene composition, to an article, especially a pipe comprising the polyethylene composition and to the use of the polyethylene composition for the production of an article, especially a pipe.
