WATER VAPOR STERILIZABLE TRANSPARENT BARRIER LAYERS PREVENTING OXYGEN TRANSMISSION FOR PACKAGING MATERIALS

The present invention relates to a formulation comprising: i) at least one hydrolysate of at least one compound of formula (I) RSi(OX).sub.3 (I) where X, the same or different, is H, C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl or acyl, R=OX, OH, C1-C4 alkyl or alkoxy silyl-substituted ethylene radical, ii) at least one hydrolysate of at least one polyisocyanurate bearing alkoxy silyl alkyl units, iii) at least one polymer bearing hydroxyl groups, and iv) a solvent mixture containing water comprising at least one alcohol with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, wherein the pH value of the formulation lies in a range from 1.8-4.7, preferably from 3-4.5, and the content of the polymer bearing hydroxyl groups ranges from 13 wt. % to 33 wt. % related to the solids content in the formulation. The invention further relates to a method for the production of said formulation, the use thereof in the production of laminate structures and corresponding laminate structures having at least two layers comprising the formulation.

The present invention relates to a formulation comprising: i) at least one hydrolysate of at least one compound of formula (I) RSi(OX).sub.3 (I) where X, the same or different, is H, C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl or acyl, R=OX, OH, C1-C4 alkyl or alkoxy silyl-substituted ethylene radical, ii) at least one hydrolysate of at least one polyisocyanurate bearing alkoxy silyl alkyl units, iii) at least one polymer bearing hydroxyl groups, and iv) a solvent mixture containing water comprising at least one alcohol with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, wherein the pH value of the formulation lies in a range from 1.8-4.7, preferably from 3-4.5, and the content of the polymer bearing hydroxyl groups ranges from 13 wt. % to 33 wt. % related to the solids content in the formulation. The invention further relates to a method for the production of said formulation, the use thereof in the production of laminate structures and corresponding laminate structures having at least two layers comprising the formulation.

A resin composition and a cured film are provided. The resin composition includes a resin (A), a crosslinking agent (B), a surfactant (C), an additive (D) and a solvent (E). The resin (A) includes at least one of a phenol-based resin (A-1) and a polystyrene resin including a hydroxyl group (A-2). The additive (D) includes a fluoro-based phenol (D-1), a polyhydroxyphenol resin (D-2), a compound including an epoxy group (D-3), a polyether resin (D-4), a thermal acid generator including a sulfonate ion (D-5), or a combination thereof.

A resin composition and a cured film are provided. The resin composition includes a resin (A), a crosslinking agent (B), a surfactant (C), an additive (D) and a solvent (E). The resin (A) includes at least one of a phenol-based resin (A-1) and a polystyrene resin including a hydroxyl group (A-2). The additive (D) includes a fluoro-based phenol (D-1), a polyhydroxyphenol resin (D-2), a compound including an epoxy group (D-3), a polyether resin (D-4), a thermal acid generator including a sulfonate ion (D-5), or a combination thereof.

A biodegradable cellulose fiber-based substrate, at least one side of which is coated with a release coating including: a) at least one water-soluble polymer (WSP) containing hydroxyl groups, and b) at least one lactone substituted with at least one linear or branched and/or cyclic C.sub.8-C.sub.30 hydrocarbon chain which may contain heteroatoms. The biodegradable substrate is certified biodegradable in accordance with EN 13432. A method of production thereof is also disclosed.

A golf ball resin composition includes (a) an olefin-,-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer and/or a metal ion neutralization product thereof or an olefin-,-unsaturated carboxylic acid-,-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester copolymer and/or a metal ion neutralization product thereof, (b) a phenolic resin and (c) a compound having at least two oxazoline groups per molecule, wherein the content of component (C) is from 0.1 to 5 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of components (a) and (b) combined. The resin composition has excellent tensile properties and, when used in a golf ball, provides the ball with an excellent durability without lowering the spin performance and distance performance of the ball. The resin is especially useful as a golf ball cover material for an outermost layer or an intermediate layer.
