A branched organosilicon compound (“compound”) is provided having the general formula: (R.sup.1).sub.3Si—X—NR.sup.2R.sup.3, where X is a divalent linking group; R.sup.2 is H or R; R.sup.3 comprises an acryloxy moiety; each R.sup.1 is selected from R and —OSi(R.sup.4).sub.3, with the proviso that at least one R.sup.1 is —OSi(R.sup.4).sub.3; where each R.sup.4 is selected from R, —OSi(R.sup.5).sub.3, and —[OSiR.sub.2]mOSiR.sub.3; where each R.sup.5 is selected from R, —OSi(R.sup.6).sub.3, and —[OSiR.sup.2].sub.mOSiR.sub.3; and where each R.sup.6 is selected from R and —[OSiR.sub.2].sub.mOSiR.sub.3, with the proviso that at least one of R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 is —[OSiR.sub.2].sub.mOSiR.sub.3; 0≤m≤100; and each R is a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group. Also provided is a method of preparing the compound, a copolymer comprising the reaction product of the compound and a second compound reactive with the compound, a method of forming the copolymer, and a composition including at least one of the compound and the copolymer.

The (meth)acrylic ester polymer (B) is a polymer containing constituent monomers including 40 to 70% by weight of an alkyl (meth)acrylate (b1) having an alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, a monomer (b2) having a reactive silicon group and a polymerizable unsaturated group, and a macromonomer (b3) that is a (meth)acrylic ester polymer having a polymerizable unsaturated group.

A copolymer having excellent water resistance and sebum resistance while also exhibiting high washability is provided. Also provided is a composition and cosmetic material containing the copolymer. The copolymer is generally polymerized from a monomer composition comprising: (A) a carbosiloxane dendrimer monomer having a radically polymerizable organic group; and (B) an unsaturated monomer having at least one acidic group or a salt thereof per molecule; wherein monomer (A) is present in the monomer composition in an amount greater than or equal to 30 wt. % relative to the weight of the monomer composition, and a weight ratio (A/B) of monomer (A) to monomer (B) is from 1.0 to 20.0.

A curable composition containing a polyoxyalkylene polymer (A) having a reactive silyl group and a (meth)acrylic ester polymer (B) having a reactive silyl group is provided. In the polyoxyalkylene polymer (A), an average ratio per molecule of a number of reactive silyl groups to a number of ends of a polymer backbone is 0.80 or more. In the (meth)acrylic ester polymer (B), an average number per molecule of the reactive silyl groups bonded at ends of a polymer backbone is from 0.30 to 1.00, and the average number per molecule of the reactive silyl groups bonded inside the polymer backbone is from 0 to less than 0.30.
