PRISM Thermoplastic Rubber (PTR) is a novel, composite rubber material technology principally compounded from EOL, ambient ground, whole tires through the management of a unique process governed by the application of advanced, quantum field physics. The value from this technology is to provide a virgin-material-analog that may be readily integrated at high ratio, into new tire construction using conventional tire chemistry and manufacturing techniques resulting in a sustainable and significant, positive cost-benefit ratio as compared to current tire manufacturing economics.

PREPARATION METHOD OF RENEWABLE EPOXY ASPHALT MATERIAL AND REGENERATION PROCESS THEREOF

Disclosed is a preparation method of a renewable epoxy asphalt material and a regeneration process. The preparation method comprises: I Vanillin and 4-aminophenol are reacted in water with stirring to obtain VAN-AP; II. VAN-AP is mixed with epichlorohydrin, to which tetrabutylammonium bromide is added and heated at 80 to 90° C. for reaction; sodium hydroxide solution is then added dropwise for reaction; the mixture is concentrated to obtain GE-VAN-AP; III. Preheated asphalt is mixed with a polyetheramine curing agent and a polyetheramine accelerator to form component A; GE-VAN-AP is melted as component B; the component A is evenly mixed with the component B to obtain a renewable epoxy asphalt material. During the regeneration, the resin phase structure in the epoxy asphalt is gradually depolymerized, whereby asphalt regenerant is used to restore the properties of the aged asphalt phase and reshape the resin phase structure to complete the regeneration.

MAINTENANCE TREATMENTS USEFUL FOR IMPROVING THE PERFORMANCE OF AGED OR BRITTLE RESINOUS BINDERS IN PAVING OR ROOFING

Provided herein are an emulsified asphalt product and an emulsified coating product. Both emulsified products contain one or more rejuvenators of formula (I) or formula (X). The emulsified asphalt product is useful for improving the performance of aged or brittle resinous binders in paving applications while the emulsified coating product is similarly useful in roofing applications. Also provided herein is a treated bituminous pavement where the performance grade varies with depth.

Pavement repair system

A pavement repair system is provided utilizing solid phase auto regenerative cohesion and homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization technologies. The system is suitable for use in repairing asphalt pavement, including pavement exhibiting a high degree of deterioration (as manifested in the presence of potholes, cracks, ruts, or the like) as well as pavement that has been subject to previous repair and may comprise a substantial amount of dirt and other debris (e.g., chipped road paint or other damaged or disturbed surfacing materials). A system utilizing homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization is suitable for rejuvenating or repairing aged asphalt, thereby improving properties of the paving material.

HEAT-ASSISTED RECORDING HEAD HAVING SUBWAVELENGTH MIRROR FORMED OF FIRST AND SECOND MATERIALS

A recording head has a near-field transducer proximate a media-facing surface of the recording head. The near-field transducer extends a first distance away from the media-facing surface. A waveguide overlaps and delivers light to the near-field transducer. Two subwavelength focusing mirrors are at an end of the waveguide proximate the media-facing surface. The subwavelength mirrors are on opposite crosstrack sides of the near-field transducer and separated from each other by a crosstrack gap. The subwavelength focusing mirrors each include a first material at the media-facing surface and a liner that covers an edge of the mirror.

Co-solubilization process for preparing modified bitumen and product obtained thereof

The present invention relates to a co-solubilization process for preparation of a polymer modified bitumen/asphalt and emulsified polymer modified bitumen/asphalt from bitumen, polymer, emulsifier etc. The present invention further relates to a polymer modified bitumen comprising bitumen and styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) linear co-polymer having high softening point. The present invention also relates to the use of the polymer modified bitumen and its emulsion in in micro-surfacing for maintenance of pavements.
