Asphalt binders are modified using fractional products from waste tire pyrolysis, using an initial step of i) at least partially pyrolyzing, separately from such asphaltic binder, whole rubber articles or size-reduced rubber particles to provide one or more pyrolyzed rubber fractions including a pyrolyzed oil fraction having a selected minimum initial boiling point or flash point, and ii) removing some or all polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) compounds from such pyrolyzed oil fraction to provide a reduced-PAH and preferably translucent pyrolyzed oil fraction that may be combined with an asphaltic binder to provide a modified asphalt composition.

USE OF AN ADDITIVE TO DELAY BITUMEN AGEING
20230072410 · 2023-03-09 · ·

The invention relates to the use of an additive chosen from the compounds of formula (1) and the compounds of formula (2) as follows: in which A, B, E, Y, Z and d and j are as defined in the description, the anti-ageing additive being present in an amount of between 0.01% and 10% by weight, relative to the total weight of the bituminous product, in order to delay the ageing of the bitumen. The invention also relates to a composition comprising:—a bituminous product,—at least one anti-ageing additive as described above, and—at least one anti-oxidant agent, the anti-ageing additive being present in an amount of between 0.01% and 10% by weight, relative to the total weight of the bituminous product.

WASTE TO ENERGY ASH AND ENGINEERED AGGREGATE IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Described herein are compositions and methods for waste-to-energy ash in engineered aggregate in road construction.

ASPHALTIC MIXTURE CONDITIONER, CONDITIONED ASPHALTIC PAVING MIXTURE, THEIR PROCESSES OF PREPARATION, THEIR USES IN PAVING SURFACES, PAVED SURFACES AND SYSTEM TO PREPARE AN ASPHALTIC MIXTURE CONDITIONER
20230193034 · 2023-06-22 ·

The invention refers to an asphaltic mixture conditioner comprising a bitumen, a polyol, a surfactant, a mineral acid and water. The invention further refers to a conditioned asphaltic paving mixture comprising bitumen, aggregate and the said asphaltic mixture conditioner.

The asphaltic mixture conditioner, used as an additive, solves problems of the prior art related to bituminous paving composition, which demand a prompt use of the asphalt compositions in situ. The additive contributes to preparation of a conditioned asphaltic paving mixture which may be storage at ambient temperature for longer periods, wherein the additive, at ambient temperature, may be added into a mix of aggregate and bitumen. Before being applied onto a surface, it is heated to a temperature range from 130° C. to 170° C., wherein all the necessary features to properly be applied onto the surface are maintained.
