Spherical polyester resin particles and method for producing same
Spherical polyester-based resin particles characterized in that the spherical polyester-based resin particles contain a polyester-based resin and have a crystallinity of 20% or less and an average circularity of 0.96 or more. The spherical polyester-based resin particles according to the present invention can provide suitable resin particles as compounding agents for cosmetics such as foundation, antiperspirants, and skin scrubs; various agents such as matte coating agents for paints, rheology modifying agents, antiblocking agents, slipperiness-imparting agents, light diffusion agents, electroconductive agents, and diagnostic testing agents for medical use; and additives to molded articles such as automobile materials and construction materials.
Polyarylene sulfide resin composition having excellent mechanical and corrosion properties
A polyarylene sulfide resin composition contains a polyarylene sulfide resin, a transition metal particle, a fibrous inorganic filler, and an inorganic nucleating agent, and a molded article made from the resin composition. The resin composition has excellent mechanical, corrosion, and haze properties, and heat resistance. The resin composition prevents corrosion of a mold and deterioration in the durability of a manufactured product upon injection by effectively removing halogen-based impurities, and also has excellent mechanical, corrosion, and haze properties, and heat resistance. A molded article manufactured from the resin composition satisfies the standards required for components of a vehicle and an electric/electronic device.
Dual component LLDPE copolymers with improved impact and tear resistance, and methods of their preparation
Disclosed are ethylene polymer compositions containing a homogeneously-branched first ethylene polymer component and 15-35 wt. % of a homogeneously-branched second ethylene polymer component of higher density than the first ethylene polymer component. The ethylene polymer composition can be characterized by a density from 0.912 to 0.925 g/cm.sup.3, a ratio of Mw/Mn from 2 to 5, a melt index less than 2 g/10 min, and a CY-a parameter at 190° C. from 0.35 to 0.7. These polymer compositions have the excellent dart impact strength and optical properties of a metallocene-catalyzed LLDPE, but with improved machine direction tear resistance, and can be used in blown film and other end-use applications. Further, methods for improving film Elmendorf tear strength also are described.
Polycarbonate resin composition and molded body
Provided is a polycarbonate resin composition, including: an aromatic polycarbonate resin (A); an alicyclic epoxy compound (B); a predetermined antioxidant (C); and a predetermined phosphorus compound (D), wherein, with respect to 100 parts by mass of the component (A), a content of the component (B) is 0.01 part by mass or more and 0.1 part by mass or less, a content of the component (C) is 0.01 part by mass or more and 0.1 part by mass or less, and a content of the component (D) is 0.01 part by mass or more and 0.05 part by mass or less.
OPTICAL LENS
The invention provides an optical lens that can provide small-sized imaging modules. The optical lens of the invention comprises a thermoplastic resin having a refractive index (nD) and Abbe number (ν) satisfying the following mathematical formula (A):
nD≤−0.02×ν+2.040 (A)
(where 1.660<nD).
Soft Polypropylene Composition With Improved Optical Behavior
The present invention is directed to a polyolefin composition (C) containing a heterophasic propylene copolymer (TERHECO) and a styrenic thermoplastic (sTPE), wherein the heterophasic propylene copolymer (TERHECO) consists of units derived from propylene, ethylene and 1-hexene. Further the present invention is directed to articles made from the polyolefin composition (C) as well as to the production of sterilized articles.
C2C3 Random Copolymer
New C.sub.2C.sub.3 random copolymers, which combine low sealing initiation temperature (SIT), high hot-tack, low C6-solubles, good optical properties and an improved stiffness/impact balance, which are particularly suited for preparing blown films. The present invention is furthermore related to the manufacture of said copolymers and to their use, as well as to the blown films comprising such C.sub.2C.sub.3 random copolymers.
POLYPROPYLENE SHEET
Polypropylene sheet, especially suitable for thermoforming, showing an advantageous combination of optical properties and mechanical properties.
Colorless and transparent polyamide-imide film, and manufacturing method therefor
Disclosed herein are a polyamide-imide film which is transparent and exhibits superior mechanical properties such as surface hardness, etc. and a method of preparing the same. The polyamide-imide film a copolymer of an aromatic diamine, an aromatic dianhydride, and an aromatic dicarbonyl compound, wherein the aromatic diamine and the aromatic dianhydride forms an imide unit; the aromatic diamine and the aromatic dicarbonyl compound forms an amide unit; and the amide unit accounts for 50-70 mol % of 100 mol % of the units of the copolymer, thereby exhibiting transparency and superior mechanical properties including surface hardness.
WEEKLY AND MONTHLY DISPOSABLE WATER GRADIENT CONTACT LENSES
The invention is related to contact lenses that not only comprise the much desired water gradient structural configurations, but also have a minimized uptakes of polycationic antimicrobials and a long-lasting surface hydrophilicity and wettability even after going through a 30-days lens care regime. Because of the water gradient structural configuration and a relatively-thick, extremely-soft and water-rich hydrogel surface layer, a contact lens of the invention can provide superior wearing comfort. Further, a contact lens of the invention is compatible with multipurpose lens care solutions present in the market and can endure the harsh lens care handling conditions (e.g., digital rubbings, accidental inversion of contact lenses, etc.) encountered in a daily lens care regime. As such, they are suitable to be used as weekly- or monthly-disposable water gradient contact lenses.
