POLYMER NANOCOMPOSITE COMPRISING POLY(ETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE) REINFORCED WITH AN INTERCALATED PHYLLOSILICATE
It is provided a phyllosilicate having a layered structure in the form of platelets and comprising an intercalating agent between the platelets, wherein the intercalating agent is a polyester of a molecular weight of 274 to 30,000 g/mol, and wherein the phyllosilicate is other than a phyllosilicate modified through ionic interchange. It is also provides a polymer nanocomposite comprising a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymer an the phyllosilicate mentioned above, as well as preparation processes for the preparation of the intercalated phyllosilicate and the PET nanocomposite. The PET nanocomposite is particularly useful for packaging, particularly for food and drink packaging.
FORMED BODY HAVING EXCELLENT GAS-BARRIER PROPERTY
A formed body made from a resin and having a wall portion, the wall portion containing, as an oxygen-absorbing component, a non-polymeric oxygen-absorbing organic component in an amount of 0.5 to 2.5% by mass, and having a ratio of oxygen permeation rates expressed by the following formula that is suppressed to be not more than 42%:
Ratio of oxygen permeation rates=(P/P.sub.0)100
wherein P is an oxygen permeation rate (cc) through the wall portion, and P.sub.0 is an oxygen permeation rate (cc) through the wall portion of the same thickness but without containing the oxygen-absorbing component.
Oxygen barriers based on modified cellulose fibers
There is provided a use of a material comprising fibers as an oxygen barrier, wherein the fibers comprise native cellulose and dialcohol cellulose. There is also provided a material comprising fibers and having a density of at least 1200 kg/m.sup.3, wherein the fibers comprise native cellulose and dialcohol cellulose and the oxygen permeability of the material according to ASTM D3985 is below 30 ml.Math.?m/(m.sup.2.Math.kPa.Math.24 h) at 23? C. and 80% relative humidity.
Saponified ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer composition and multilayered structure using said composition
Provided are: an EVOH resin composition which can exhibit excellent gas-barrier performance after being subjected to a hot water treatment and rarely generates blisters even when being placed under a high-temperature and high-humidity condition; and a multilayered structure including a layer of the resin composition as a gas-barrier layer. A hydrate-formable alkaline earth metal salt having a specific water absorption property, particularly completely or partially dehydrated alkaline earth metal salt of acid, or a mixture thereof. The acid is selected from the group consisting of lactic acid, silicic acid, phosphoric acid, and citric acid. The partially dehydrated alkaline earth metal salt of the salt has a water content of 50 wt % or less.
COMPOSITION AND LINER FOR HIGH-PRESSURE GAS STORAGE TANK COMPRISING SAME
Provided are a composition having excellent gas barrier property and low-temperature impact resistance, and a liner for high-pressure gas storage tanks containing the same. Particularly, provided are a composition, in which resin particles reinforcing low-temperature impact resistance are dispersed in a gas barrier resin, thereby having excellent gas barrier property and excellent impact resistance while being easily moldable, and a liner for high-pressure gas storage tanks.
GAS BARRIER FILM, SOLAR CELL, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF GAS BARRIER FILM
An object of the present invention is to provide a gas barrier film which can prevent the damage of an inorganic layer even in a case where the gas barrier film is used in a product which undergoes a step of applying pressure, heat, and the like, a solar cell using the gas barrier film, and a manufacturing method of the gas barrier film. The object is achieved by a gas barrier film having a support and an inorganic layer and a protective organic layer on one surface of the support, in which the protective organic layer has a polymerized substance of a graft copolymer having an acryl polymer as a main chain and having, as a side chain, at least either an acryloyl group-terminated urethane polymer or an acryloyl group-terminated urethane oligomer, a polymerized substance of a (meth)acrylate monomer having three or more functional groups, a polymerized substance of the graft copolymer and the (meth)acrylate monomer having three or more functional groups, a (meth)acrylate polymer, and a silane coupling agent having a (meth)acryloyl group.
BARRIER FILM FOR FOOD PACKAGING
This invention relates to barrier films which are prepared from a blend of at least two high density polyethylene (hdpe) resins and a nucleating agent. The films are used to prepare packaging for dry foods such as crackers and breakfast cereals.
POLYESTER CONTAINERS AND FILMS WITH REDUCED GAS PERMEABILITY
Three independent approaches to the reduction of gas molecule permeability through a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polyester film or container wall by increasing the mechanically or thermally induced crystallinity or the overall crystallinity level of a single or multilayer container, where the three approaches may be employed independently or in combination with one another.
Organopolysiloxane composition
