Reactive Blends of Nylon and Anhydride Oligomer
A composition having at least one thermoplastic resin and an anhydride functionalized oligomer grafted to the thermoplastic resin.
VAPOR MITIGATION BARRIERS
Compositions for forming an improved vapor mitigation barrier are contemplated, such compositions being formed as an aqueous mixture of an asphalt component and a latex component, with the latex component including a chemically resistant latex, the chemically resistant latex being an acrylonitrile butadiene copolymer, an elastomeric fluoropolymer, or both. Such compositions, when cured and formed into a vapor mitigation barrier, may be seen to substantially mitigate diffusion of chlorinated hydrocarbons across the barriers. Also contemplated are methods for forming such vapor mitigation barriers, as well as vapor mitigation barrier products formed via the application of such compositions to various substrates.
RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING ETHYLENE/VINYL ALCOHOL COPOLYMER, LAMINATE, AND MOLDED ARTICLE
Provided is a resin composition, comprising: an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A); an isobutylene-based copolymer (B) containing a halogen atom; and a halogen scavenger (C), wherein a mass ratio (B/A) of the isobutylene-based copolymer (B) to the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) is from 5/95 to 45/55, and a content of the halogen scavenger (C) is from 0.01 to 1 part by mass based on 100 parts by mass of a total of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) and the isobutylene-based copolymer (B). Such a resin composition is excellent in gas barrier properties and flexibility and stably produced over a long period of time.
RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING ISOBUTYLENE-BASED COPOLYMER, AND MOLDED OBJECT
Provided is a resin composition, comprising: an isobutylene-based copolymer (A) containing a halogen atom; an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (B); and a halogen scavenger (C), wherein a mass ratio (B/A) of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (B) to the isobutylene-based copolymer (A) containing a halogen atom is from 20/80 to 50/50, and a content of the halogen scavenger (C) is from 0.01 to 1 part by mass based on 100 parts by mass of a total of the isobutylene-based copolymer (A) containing a halogen atom and the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (B). Such a resin composition is excellent in gas barrier properties and flexibility and stably produced over a long period of time.
MULTILAYER FILM COMPRISING POLYALKYLENE CARBONATE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to a multilayer film including polyalkylene carbonate, and more particularly to a multilayer film including a core layer prepared by blending polyalkylene carbonate and an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer in a predetermined ratio, and an outer layer of polyolefin. The multilayer film does not have delamination behavior because two layers are adhered each other with a simple process without an additional step for introducing an oxygen-barrier layer even without adhesive or tie layers, and has an excellent oxygen barrier property. In addition, since an additional process for imparting barrier properties and a separate adhesive or tie layer are not required in the manufacturing method, the cost can be reduced and the layer structure can be simplified, which may greatly reduce the manufacturing cost.
INSULATING GLASS SEALANTS BASED ON POLYURETHANES AND ORGANICALLY-MODIFIED NANOCLAYS
Curable compositions are prepared using polyisocyanates, hydrophobic hydroxyl-terminated polymers (such as hydroxyl-terminated polyfarnesenes and hydroxyl-terminated polydienes) and organically-modified nanoclays, optionally in combination with chain extenders and/or urethane catalysts. When cured, the compositions yield polyurethane-based sealants useful in insulating glass units which have improved (lowered) moisture vapor transmission rate values as a consequence of the inclusion of the organically-modified nanoclays.
POLYETHYLENE POLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND ARTICLES MADE FROM THE SAME
A polymer composition comprises a polyethylene polymer and a salt of a branched alkyl phosphonic acid. A polyethylene film having improved barrier to water vapor and oxygen comprises a high-density polyethylene polymer having a density of about 930 kg/m.sup.3 to about 980 kg/m.sup.3 and a salt of a branched alkyl phosphonic acid.
Gas-barrier composition
A gas-barrier composition including nanocellulose containing at least one of a sulfuric acid group, a sulfo group, or a phosphoric acid group; and a reactive crosslinking agent.
Polyethylene copolymer compositions and their barrier properties
A dual reactor solution polymerization process gives high density polyethylene compositions containing a first ethylene copolymer and a second ethylene copolymer. The polyethylene compositions can be used in the manufacture of injection molded closures or cast film having good barrier properties.
Ethylene-(vinyl alcohol) copolymer and method for producing same
Provided is an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer with an ethylene unit content of 15 to 60 mol % and a saponification degree of 85 mol % or more.
