A bearing material may include a polymeric matrix of polyamide-imide (PAI) polymer material and a plurality of melamine cyanurate particles dispersed within the polymeric matrix.
Method of Making a Fluoropolymer Dispersion Having a Low Amount of Perfluoroalkanoic Acids or Salts Thereof and the Fluoropolymer Comprises a Low Ionic End Group Ratio
Described herein is a method of making a fluoropolymer, the method comprising: providing an aqueous mixture comprising a fluorinated monomer, and an initiator; polymerizing the aqueous mixture under free radical conditions; and adding perfluoromethyl iodide during the polymerization to provide an aqueous dispersion of the fluoropolymer, wherein the amount of perfluorooctanoic acid or salt thereof in the aqueous dispersion of the fluoropolymer is not more than 25 nanograms per gram of the fluoropolymer.
POLYMER DISPERSION, ITS USE AND METHOD FOR ITS MANUFACTURE
The present invention relates to a polymer dispersion, which comprises polymer particles dispersed in an aqueous continuous phase. The polymer particles are obtainable by a radical polymerisation of one or more vinyl monomers comprising alkyl (meth)acrylates. A rosin component is dissolved into at least one of the vinyl monomers before the radical polymerisation of the vinyl monomers, and the radical polymerisation is conducted in the presence of the rosin component. The invention relates also to the use of the polymer dispersion for surface sizing of a cellulosic fibre web and to a method for producing a polymer dispersion.

In various embodiments, the present invention provides a tackifier compound including independently substituted or unsubstituted fused rings A and B each independently chosen from (C.sub.5-C.sub.10)cycloalkyl and (C.sub.2-C.sub.10)heterocyclyl. Fused ring A is substituted with (R.sup.1).sub.1-8 and fused ring B is substituted with (OC(O)RC(O)R.sup.2).sub.1-8. At each occurrence R is independently chosen from (C.sub.2-C.sub.10)alkanylene, (C.sub.2-C.sub.10)alkenylene, (C.sub.2-C.sub.10)alkynylene, C.sub.5-C.sub.20(arylene), and (C.sub.1-C.sub.20)heteroarylene, wherein R is unsubstituted or substituted. At each occurrence R.sup.1 is independently selected from OH, OR.sup.3, and OC(O)RC(O)R.sup.2. At each occurrence R.sup.2 is independently chosen from OH, OR.sup.3, NH.sub.2, NHR.sup.3, and NR.sup.3.sub.2. At each occurrence R.sup.3 is independently chosen from (C.sub.1-C.sub.10)alkanyl, (C.sub.2-C.sub.10)alkenyl, (C.sub.2-C.sub.10)alkynyl, C.sub.5-C.sub.20(aryl), and (C.sub.1-C.sub.20)heteroaryl, wherein R.sup.3 is unsubstituted or substituted.
Water dispersible polyamide building blocks
Water dispersible polyamides having carboxylic acid groups are disclosed. These are made by reacting polycarboxyl is acids or anhydrides thereof with amine containing monomer or an amide terminated polyamide under reaction conditions such that a few of the carboxylic acid groups are residual and can promote dispersion in water. These polyamides after dispersion can be chain extended to higher molecular weight polymers or can be terminally functionalized with reactive groups such as isocyanate, epoxy, vinyl, acetoacetonate, or silanol groups. Composites and hybrids of these polyamides with vinyl polymers are also disclosed and claimed.
Production of shaped articles
Disclosed are electrically conducting shaped articles and also a process for producing same from granular and/or fibrous substrates.
Resin dispersion, coating material, laminate, and processes for their production
A resin dispersion having, dispersed in water with a 50% particle diamter of at most 0.5 m, a polymer (C) having a hydrophilic polymer (B) or an acidic group bonded to a propylene/-olefin copolymer (A) as a copolymer of propylene with an -olefin other than propylene, where the copolymer (A) has a propylene content of at least 50 mol% and less than 100 mol% and the copolymer (A) has a weight average molecular weight Mw of at least 10,000 and a molecular weight distribution Mw/Mn of at most 3.5, and the resin dispersion has a surfactant content of at most 15 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the polymer (C).
