PROCESS FOR FORMING RUBBER LATEX FROM BRANCHED POLYMERS
The disclosure relates to rubber latex formed from any of: branched block copolymers derived from alkenyl aromatic hydrocarbon—1,3-diene monomer system, and branched polyisoprene homopolymers derived from isoprene. The polymers in embodiments are obtained by polymerization in the presence of an anionic initiator; at a temperature from 0° C. to 100° C.; followed by coupling with a multifunctional coupling agent of formula (R.sup.1O).sub.3Si—Y—Si(OR.sup.2).sub.3, wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently C.sub.1-C.sub.6 alkyl groups; and Y is a C.sub.2-C.sub.8 alkylene group. The polymers are obtained as rubber cements having high solids content and low zero shear viscosities. The rubber cements are valuable for making latices for further applications.
Method of bonding together surfaces of two or more elements and a product made by said method
A method of bonding together surfaces of two or more elements. The method includes the steps of providing two or more elements, applying an adhesive to one or more of the surfaces to be bonded together before, during or after contacting the surfaces to be bonded together with each other, and curing the adhesive, wherein the adhesive comprises at least one hydrocolloid.
Method for producing polymer latex
A method for producing a polymer latex, includes a step of emulsifying a polymer solution of a synthetic polyisoprene and/or a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer, in water in the presence of a rosin and/or a rosin metal salt, thereby obtaining an emulsified liquid, wherein the rosin and/or the rosin metal salt to be used have/has a total content rate of abietic acid, neoabietic acid and palustric acid, and salts thereof, of 5% by weight or less.
BENZOPHENONE DERIVATIVE, AQUEOUS COPOLYMER DISPERSION AND AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a benzophenone derivative and an aqueous copolymer dispersion comprising the benzophenone derivative. This invention also relates to an aqueous coating composition comprising the aqueous copolymer dispersion. The benzophenone derivative provides better crosslinking efficiency and improvement to dirt pick up resistance performance.
AQUEOUS PRIMER COMPOSITION AND INK SET, AND PRINTED MATTER
An aqueous primer composition includes a water-soluble multivalent metal salt, a polyester-based polyurethane emulsion, and water. A set includes the aqueous primer composition and an inkjet recording ink composition. A printed matter obtained by using the set includes a base material layer, a primer layer containing the water-soluble multivalent metal salt and the polyester-based polyurethane, and a printing layer. The aqueous primer can offer excellent preservation stability, and can allow for formation of a printing layer having high adhesion, capable of forming high-quality images with little bleeding/mottled appearance when printing images, text, etc., to form a printing layer on a plastic film or other nonabsorbent medium using inkjet recording ink compositions, offering excellent water resistance and lamination suitability.
Membrane Having A Reduced Shutdown Temperature and Polymer Composition For Making Same
A polymer composition for producing gel extruded articles is described. The polymer composition contains polyethylene particles combined with a plasticizer and one or more shutdown reducing additives. The shutdown reducing additives decrease the shutdown temperature of polymer articles made from the polymer composition. In one embodiment, the polymer composition is used to form a porous membrane for use of a battery separator.
Soil conditioner for reducing the sodicity and dispersion to improve the water mobility in various soils
The present invention relates to a soil conditioner based on organomodified siloxanes and uses thereof as well as methods for conditioning soil, particularly farmland, which reduce the sodicity and dispersion to improve the mobility of water through the soil.
Crack resistant micro surfacing composition
A polymer-modified emulsion used for micro surfacing paving applications that results in a durable paving composition. The residue from the emulsion exhibits a resistance to cracking and an overall reduction in reflective cracking.
ALIPHATIC-POLYESTER-BASED RESIN COMPOSITION AND UTILIZATION THEREOF
The present invention has an object to provide (i) an aliphatic polyester-based resin composition that is biodegradable and has excellent shock resistance. The object is attained by providing an aliphatic polyester-based resin composition containing (A) poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) and (B) a compatibilized biodegradable resin containing a reaction product of (i) the poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate), (ii) a biodegradable resin other than the poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) and having a glass transition temperature of not more than −10° C., and (iii) a peroxide, the (B) having a dispersed particle diameter of 0.1 μm to 1.5 μm.
SEIZURE DETECTION SYSTEM IN MOBILE SUBJECTS
An electrode for use in ambulatory BEG signal collection includes an electrode contact comprising a gelatin or hydrogel polymer having low input impedance. The electrode contact retains adhesive ability and low input impedance over long periods of time. A system using the electrode includes circuits and software for analyzing EEG signals to detect and report ictal events in real time. At least part of the system is wearable; and advantageously part of the system resides in a cloud based system. A signal analyzer incorporated in the system provides real time ictal signal identification through physical graphing and cross-correlation. In some aspects the analyzer also provides confirmation of ictal signal identification by physical graphing and machine deep learning. Analysis of physical graphs may conveniently be performed using a graphics processing unit to speed processing.
