SILOXANE-BASED GEL ADHESIVES AND ARTICLES

Siloxane-based gel adhesives with improved shear holding power are prepared from curable compositions. The curable compositions include a siloxane fluid with a viscosity of at least 1,000,000 centiPoise, a siloxane-(meth)acrylate co-polymer, and siloxane tackifying resin. The curable compositions can contain an initiator or can be cured by e-beam radiation without an initiator. The siloxane-(meth)acrylate copolymer is the reaction product of a reaction mixture of an ethylenically unsaturated siloxane-containing macromer, an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer; optionally a reinforcing monomer, and an initiator.

Thermoplastic Resin Composition and Molded Article Produced Therefrom

A thermoplastic resin composition of the present invention is characterized by containing: about 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin including rubber-modified vinyl-based graft copolymer and aromatic vinyl-based copolymer resins; about 10-50 parts by weight of a flame retardant other than a phosphorus-based compound; about 1.5-3.5 parts by weight of zinc oxide particles having an average particle size of about 0.2-3 μm and a BET specific surface area of about 1-10 m.sup.2/g; and about 2.5-6.5 parts by weight of sodium phosphate. The thermoplastic resin composition has excellent antibacterial properties, flame retardant properties, and impact resistance properties.

A method of producing a medical polyoxypropylene polymer and a polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene block copolymer including (A) adding to a polyoxypropylene polymer which is obtained by ring-opening polymerization of propylene oxide to a starting substance having an active hydrogen reacting with the propylene oxide and contains allyl ether as an impurity, a tertiary alkoxide of alkali metal in an excess amount based on a molar number of the active hydrogen of the starting substance and heat treating at 115° C. or less to isomerize the allyl ether to propenyl ether; and (B) adding a mineral acid to the product obtained in step (A) to adjust pH to 4 or less and treating at 70° C. or less to hydrolyze the propenyl ether. Also disclosed is a method of producing a medical polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene block copolymer which includes performing ring-opening polymerization of ethylene oxide to the polyoxypropylene polymer obtained above.
