DILUTION INDEX
This disclosure relates to ethylene interpolymer compositions. Specifically, ethylene interpolymer products having: a Dilution Index (Y.sub.d) greater than 0; total catalytic metal 3.0 ppm; 0.03 terminal vinyl unsaturations per 100 carbon atoms, and; optionally a Dimensionless Modulus (X.sub.d) greater than 0. The disclosed ethylene interpolymer products have a melt index from about 0.3 to about 500 dg/minute, a density from about 0.869 to about 0.975 g/cm.sup.3, a polydispersity (M.sub.w/M.sub.n) from about 2 to about 25 and a CDBI.sub.50 from about 20% to about 97%. Further, the ethylene interpolymer products are a blend of at least two ethylene interpolymers; where one ethylene interpolymer is produced with a single-site catalyst formulation and at least one ethylene interpolymer is produced with a heterogeneous catalyst formulation.
Oxygen scavenging polyester compositions for containers
Disclosed herein is an oxygen scavenging composition for containers. The oxygen scavenging composition for containers may comprise at least one polyester component, a transition metal catalyst, an oxygen scavenger, and a vegetable oil. The vegetable oil preferably comprises at least one molecule having a double allylic structure. The polyester component preferably comprises at least one acid unit and at least one diol unit. The concentration of double allylic structures of the vegetable oil in the composition may be greater than 5.0 meq/kg of all of the polyester components. The oxygen scavenger is preferably present in the composition at a level less than 1.0% by weight of the total composition. The vegetable oil is preferably present in the composition at a level greater than 0.3% by weight relative to the total weight of the polyester components, the transition metal catalyst and the vegetable oil.
POLYETHYLENE FORMULATIONS WITH IMPROVED BARRIER AND TOUGHNESS FOR MOLDING APPLICATIONS
Polyethylene formulations, articles produced therefrom, and methods of making articles are provided. The polyethylene formulation includes a multimodal high density polyethylene (HDPE) composition, and 1 ppm to 10,000 ppm of a nucleating agent, wherein the multimodal HDPE composition comprises a density of 0.940 g/cm.sup.3 to 0.970 g/cm.sup.3 when measured according to ASTM D792, and a melt index (I.sub.2) of 0.01 g/10 min. to 1.0 g/10 min. when measured according to ASTM D1238 at 190 C. and a 2.16 kg load, and wherein the multimodal HDPE composition comprises an infrared cumulative detector fraction (CDF.sub.IR) of greater than 0.27 and an infrared cumulative detector fraction to light scattering cumulative detector fraction ratio (CDF.sub.IR/CDF.sub.LS) from 0.7 to 2.0.
POLYMERIC BLENDS AND USES THEREOF FOR MAKING TRANSPARENT RIGID AND HEAT-RESISTANT THERMOPLASTIC WORKPIECES
Polymeric blends and thermoplastic compositions which can be used for making thermoplastic workpieces are provided. The polymeric blends and thermoplastic compositions comprise a copolyester and an oxygen scavenging polyester, and optionally an oxidation catalyst. These blends and compositions may be used for making heat-resistant rigid and transparent containers having a low gas permeability. These thermoplastic workpieces and containers may find numerous applications for food, beverage, medical, pharmaceuticals and cosmetic products, as well as for any other application for which it is desirable to inhibit exposure to oxygen during storage. Particular examples provided are bottles and jugs particularly that are useful for hot fill applications.
CONTAINER FOR CHLORINE-BASED LIQUID BLEACHING AGENT COMPOSITION, AND BLEACHING AGENT ARTICLE
Provided is a container for chlorine-based liquid bleaching agent composition, which accommodates a chlorine-based liquid bleaching agent composition therein and has excellent transparency, in which even when storied over a long period of time, the generation of a crack is suppressed.
The container of the present invention is a container for chlorine-based liquid bleaching agent composition containing 90 to 99.5 parts by mass of a polyester resin (A) and 0.5 to 10 parts by mass of a polyamide (B) (a sum total of the polyester resin (A) and the polyamide resin (B) is 100 parts by mass), wherein the polyester resin (A) has a structural unit derived from a dicarboxylic acid and a structural unit derived from a diol, 80 mol % or more of the structural unit derived from a dicarboxylic acid being a structural unit derived from terephthalic acid, and 80 mol % or more of the structural unit derived from a diol being a structural unit derived from ethylene glycol; and the polyamide resin (B) has a structural unit derived from a diamine and a structural unit derived from a dicarboxylic acid, 80 mol % or more of the structural unit derived from a diamine being a structural unit derived from xylylenediamine, and 80 mol % or more of the structural unit derived from a dicarboxylic acid being a structural unit derived from adipic acid.
POLYOLEFIN COMPOSITION
The invention relates to a composition comprising: (A) a propylene-based polymer which is a propylene homopolymer or a propylene copolymer consisting of at least 90 wt % of propylene monomer units and at most 10 wt % of ethylene monomer units and/or an -olefin monomer units having 4 to 10 carbon atoms, (B) an elastomer of ethylene and an -olefin comonomer having 4 to 10 carbon atoms, wherein the elastomer has a density of 0.850 to 0.865 g/cm 3 and a melt flow index of 0.1 to 20 dg/min measured in accordance with ASTM D1238 using a 2.16 kg weight and at a temperature of 190 C. and (C) a block copolymer comprising a terminal block comprising styrene or alpha-methylstyrene.
POLYETHYLENE COPOLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND ARTICLES WITH BARRIER PROPERTIES
A dual reactor solution polymerization process gives high density polyethylene compositions containing a first ethylene copolymer and a second ethylene copolymer. The polyethylene compositions can be used in the manufacture of injection molded closures or cast film having good barrier properties.
Low Coefficient of Friction Ethylene-Based Compositions
The present disclosure provides a composition. The composition contains (A) an ethylene-based polymer; and (B) a slip agent blend, the slip agent blend containing (i) from greater than 50 wt % to 99 wt % of a first polydimethylsiloxane having a number average molecular weight (Mn) from 30,000 g/mol to less than 300,000 g/mol; and (ii) from 1 wt % to less than 50 wt % of a second polydimethylsiloxane having a number average molecular weight (Mn) from 300,000 g/mol to 2,000,000 g/mol, based on the total weight of the slip agent blend. The present disclosure also provides a film with a layer containing said composition.
UV-ABSORBING COATING INCLUDING ZINC OXIDE NANOPARTICLES
Various embodiments disclosed relate to visually transparent UV-absorbing coatings including ZnO nanoparticles. The coating includes ZnO nanoparticles, hydroxy(C.sub.1-C.sub.10)alkyl cellulose, a dispersant, and less than about 5 wt % water.
