Provided is a flame-retardant foam which has high flame retardancy, is excellent in flexibility, and is excellent in stress dispersibility. Also provided is a foam member including such flame-retardant foam as a flame-retardant foam layer. The flame-retardant foam of the present invention has an apparent density of from 0.02 g/cm.sup.3 to 0.40 g/cm.sup.3, a 50% compression load of from 0.5 N/cm.sup.2 to 8.0 N/cm.sup.2, and a rupture elongation in a tensile test of 120% or less.

Expandable compositions containing aromatic vinyl polymers having self-extinguishing properties and improved processability

The present invention relates to an expandable polymeric composition comprising: a) a polymeric matrix containing vinyl aromatic polymers and/or copolymers; b) from 0.1% to 20% by weight, calculated on the polymeric matrix (a), of an athermanous agent; c) from 0.01% to 10% by weight, calculated on the polymeric matrix (a), of at least one non-polymeric brominated flame retardant additive; d) from 0.01% to 10% by weight, calculated on the polymeric matrix (a), of at least one brominated polymer containing at least 50% bromine; e) from 0.01% to 5% by weight, calculated on the polymeric matrix (a), of a synergistic flame retardant additive; f) from 1% by weight to 10% by weight of at least one blowing agent.

Compositions and Foam Compositions Containing Composite Particles, Articles, Composite Particles, and Methods

Compositions are provided including an uncrosslinked thermoplastic nitrogen-containing matrix material and composite particles distributed in the matrix material. The composite particles each include a chemical blowing agent particle encapsulated within a shell including an uncrosslinked thermoplastic material. The uncrosslinked thermoplastic material exhibits at least a certain minimum complex viscosity at a decomposition temperature of the chemical blowing agent particle. Also described are foam compositions and particles including the foam compositions, such as a sheet or multilayer construction. Composite particles are further provided. Methods of making the foam compositions are additionally described herein. Also, polishing pads, polishing systems, and methods of polishing a substrate are provided.

POLYPROPYLENE-BASED RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING ULTRAHIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT PROPYLENE (CO)POLYMER

A polypropylene-based resin composition contains: a component (A1) being a propylene homopolymer or a copolymer of propylene and a 30 wt % or less α-olefin having 2 or 4 to 8 carbon atoms, having a intrinsic viscosity of more than 20 dl/g, as measured in a tetralin solvent at 135° C.; and a component (A2) being a polymer selected from the group consisting of (A2-1) a propylene homopolymer, (A2-2) a random copolymer of propylene and an α-olefin having 2 or 4 to 8 carbon atoms, (A2-3) a block copolymer of propylene and an α-olefin having 2 or 4 to 8 carbon atoms, and a combination of the (A2-1), (A2-2), and (A2-3).

The resin composition has a content of the component (A1) of 0.1 to 10 wt % and a content of the component (A2) of 99.9 to 90 wt % based on the total amount of the component (A1) and the component (A2). The component (A2) has a melt flow rate (MFR) (230° C., load: 2.16 kg) of 1 to 500 g/10 min.
