The invention relates to the use of a composition comprising at least one polyamide, at least one of said polyamides being a semi-crystalline copolyamide comprising at least one minority monomer unit resulting from the polycondensation of at least one diamine with at least one polymerised fatty acid, particularly a fatty acid dimer, or at least one diamine dimer with at least one dicarboxylic acid, or at least one amino acid dimer, or the mixtures thereof, as a sealing layer in a pipe containing a cooling liquid.

CURABLE COMPOSITIONS FOR CURED-IN-PLACE PIPES

Disclosed is a curable composition with enhanced curing time at ambient temperatures, the curable composition including (a) a resin, e.g., 4,4′-isopropylidenediphenol-epichlorohydrin copolymer and (b) one or more curing agents, wherein a ratio of a weight percentage of the resin to a weight percentage of the curing agent or curing agents is from about 12:1 to about 15:1. Also disclosed is a method of curing a cured-in-place liner, wherein the cured-in-place liner contains the above curable composition.

A flexible conduit used for transportation of hydrocarbon fluids for off-shore and on-shore oil and gas applications includes an inner pressure sheath, at least one reinforcing layer at least partially disposed around the pressure sheath, an outer protective sheath at least partially disposed around the at least one reinforcing layer, and optionally a thermally insulating layer disposed between the at least one reinforcing layer and the outer protective sheath. At least one of the inner pressure sheath, outer protective sheath, and the thermally insulating layer is manufactured using a thermoplastic blend (TPB) composition. The TPB compositions disclosed herein are useful for the formation of at least one polymer layer of the thermoplastic umbilical hoses used for transportation of hydrocarbon fluids.

The present invention relates to a polyethylene composition comprising, a base resin (A) comprising a copolymer of ethylene and at least one comonomer selected from alpha-olefins having from three to twelve carbon atoms, wherein the ethylene copolymer comprises a low molecular weight component (A-1) and a high molecular weight component (A-2) with the low molecular weight component (A-1) having a lower weight average molecular weight than the high molecular weight component (A-2), (B) carbon black in an amount of 1.0 to 10 wt % based on the total amount of the polyethylene composition, and (C) optional further additives other than carbon black.

The invention relates to a profile made from a polymer material comprising a linear low-density polyethylene and a very low-density polyethylene having a specific range of flexural modulus, and to a flexible hose made from said profile. It is part of the invention that the profile wall thickness of the flexible hose is reduced while a sufficient and efficacious value for the flex life is maintained and while a sufficiently high memory is maintained, when compared to the common wall thickness of current hoses, such that the hose of the invention has a reduced weight while the durability and fatigue resistance of the hose is maintained at a sufficiently high value.

Polyethylene composition

The present invention concerns a polyethylene composition comprising a blend of between 5 and 40 wt/% of first polyethylene produced with a chromium based catalyst and having an MFR2 between 0.01 and 1 g/10 min, wherein the first polyethylene is a high density polyethylene with a density between 940 and 965 kg/m3, and between 60 and 95 wt % of a second polyethylene with an MFR2 between >1 and 12 g/10 min. Such a blend may thereby be advantageously used especially for example in cable and wire applications.
