The liquid crystal polymer film includes a layer A and a layer B on at least one surface of the layer A, in which the layer A contains a liquid crystal polymer and a linear expansion coefficient of the liquid crystal polymer film is −20 ppm/K to 50 ppm/K.

Compatibilization of post consumer resins

Compositions comprising post-consumer recycled (PCR) waste are described. The PCR is combined with at least one virgin resin and a propylene-based compatibilizer that enhances the blend between the PCR and virgin resin as well as improving one or more physical properties of the composition. The propylene-based compatibilizer is a reactor made thermoplastic polyolefin or a heterophasic copolymer with a semi-crystalline matrix and a rubber component. This allows for the selection of a compatibilizer that can shift the composition's physical properties based on the end use application, and provide a stronger, miscible blend.

A polymer composition that contains an aromatic polymer in combination with a tribological formulation is provided. The polymer composition may exhibit a low degree of surface friction that minimizes the extent to which a skin layer is peeled off during use of a part containing the composition (e.g., in a camera module). For example, the polymer composition may exhibit a dynamic coefficient of friction of about 1.0 or less and/or a wear depth may be about 500 micrometers or less as determined in accordance with VDA 230-206:2007.

Polymer Composite Containing Recycled Carbon Fibers

A polymer composition is described well suited for being combined with relatively short fibers. The fibers, for instance, can have a mean fiber length of less than 1,000 microns, such as less than 700 microns, such as less than 500 microns. The polymer formulation allows for intimate mixing with the fibers without having to use a sizing agent. In one embodiment, the composition contains a polybutylene terephthalate polymer combined with a thermoplastic polymer having lower crystallinity.

Polyamide polymer compositions

Described herein are polymer compositions including (i) a polymer blend containing an amorphous polyester copolymer and a semi-crystalline polyamide polymer (“polyester/polyamide blend”), (ii) 1 weight percent (wt. %) to 5 wt. % of an epoxy functionalized impact modifier and optionally (iii) one or more additives. It was surprisingly found that incorporation of a specific amount of an epoxy functionalized impact modifier into polymer compositions including a polyester/polyamide blend provided for significantly improved impact performance, relative to corresponding polymer compositions incorporating non-epoxy functionalized impact modifiers or corresponding polymer compositions free of impact modifiers. Due at least in part to the significantly improved impact performance and outstanding chemical resistance, the polymer compositions described herein can be incorporated in a wide variety of application settings, including but not limited to mobile electronic application settings.
