Aromatic polymer composition for use in a camera module
A polymer composition that contains an aromatic polymer in combination with a tribological formulation is provided. The polymer composition may exhibit a low degree of surface friction that minimizes the extent to which a skin layer is peeled off during use of a part containing the composition (e.g., in a camera module). For example, the polymer composition may exhibit a dynamic coefficient of friction of about 1.0 or less and/or a wear depth may be about 500 micrometers or less as determined in accordance with VDA 230-206:2007.
ULTRASOUND PROBE AND RESIN COMPOSITION FOR ULTRASOUND PROBE
Provided is an ultrasound probe that includes a shaft having an ultrasonic oscillator on a front end thereof and a sheath covering the shaft. The sheath includes a resin particle having a particle diameter of 0.1 to 100 m and a thermoplastic resin. Also provided is a resin composition suitable as a sheath material for the ultrasound probe.
METHOD OF MAKING UHMWPE HYBRID NANOCOMPOSITE COATING REINFORCED WITH NANOCLAY AND CARBON NANOTUBES
A method for forming a nanocomposite coating on a substrate is described. The nanocomposite substrate comprises polyethylene, functionalized carbon nanotubes, and nanoclay. The method may use microparticles of UHMWPE with functionalized carbon nanotubes and clay nanoplatelets to form a powder mixture, which is then applied to a heated substrate to form the nanocomposite coating. The nanocomposite coating may have a Vickers hardness of 10.5-12.5 HV and a debonding strength of at least 25 N.
Star-shaped polyacrylamide copolymer and preparation method thereof and drilling fluid including the copolymer
A star-shaped polyacrylamide copolymer and a preparation method thereof are provided, as well as a drilling fluid containing the star-shaped polyacrylamide copolymer. Only the star-shaped polyacrylamide copolymer is added into the drilling fluid; under a high-temperature environment, the filtration volume of the drilling fluid can be reduced, the high-temperature rheological property of the drilling fluid is improved, and the pressure loss of a circulation system of the drilling fluid is reduced.
CHEMICALLY RESISTANT SEALANT COMPOSITIONS AND USES THEREOF
Chemically resistant sealant compositions include high equivalent weight sulfur-containing prepolymers. Upon exposure to chemicals the properties of sealants prepared using the prepolymers exhibit excellent fuel and phosphate ester resistance.
THERMOPLASTIC POWDER COMPOSITION AND REINFORCED THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT PRODUCED BY 3D PRINTING OF SUCH A COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a reinforced thermoplastic powder composition, comprising: at least one polyamide powder with a d50 of less than 100 m, from 5% to 70% by weight of at least one glass fiber: with a 150 within the range from 50 to 200 m, with an lmax of less than 450 m, with a d50 within the range from 4 to 40 m, with a form factor F: 150/d50 of between 5 and 15, and from 0.05% to 5% of a pulverulent flow agent with a d50 of less than 20 m; with regard to the total weight of the composition. The present invention relates in particular to the use of said composition in 3D printing processes for manufacturing reinforced three-dimensional objects.
SEALANT COMPOSITION
A tire sealant composition is provided for sealing punctures in pneumatic tires, particularly in the extreme outer shoulder edge and sidewall, comprising a liquid carrier comprising one or more components selected from water, a glycol and glycerine; latex in an amount between about 0.5 to about 6.0% by weight of the composition; a polysaccharide suspending agent and a particulate material with a particle size of less than 300 m; wherein the viscosity of the sealant composition is less than 1000 cP. The composition allows for passage through the tire valve without the need for removal of the valve core.
Ethylene vinyl alcohol pellets as well as films thereof
The instant disclosure relates to ethylene vinyl alcohol pellets including one or more fluorine-containing micro-particles having a particle size that is not greater than 20 m. The EVOH films formed from the EVOH pellets may have a Charpy impact strength of at least 2.45 KJ/m.sup.2 according to ISO 179-1 at 23 C. and an elongation at break of at least 17.8% according to ISO 527-2 at 23 C.

Provided is a rubber-containing graft polymer that can be uniformly dispersed in a thermoplastic resin containing an alloy in a particle size of 100 to 300 nm and can improve strength developability required as a rubber-containing graft polymer. In a rubber-containing graft polymer (A) of the present invention, a rubber to be grafted has a particle size of 100 to 300 nm, a content of an organic solvent insoluble component in the rubber-containing graft polymer (100% by mass) is 92% to 99.5% by mass, and an organic solvent soluble component of the rubber-containing graft polymer has a weight average molecular weight of 250,000 to 700,000.
Color Stable and Low Wear Polymer Composition and Articles Made Therefrom
A colorized and tribologically modified polyoxymethylene polymer composition is disclosed. The polyoxymethylene polymer composition is comprised of a polyoxymethylene polymer in combination with at least one tribological modifier. The tribological modifier may include a fluoropolymer. The polymer composition further contains at least one coloring agent in combination with a color stabilizer. The color stabilizer has been found to dramatically improve color consistency. Polymer articles molded from the polymer composition not only have excellent surface appearance but have excellent low friction characteristics when tested against aluminum.
