Multilayer structures having improved recyclability

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to multilayer structures. The multilayer structures may include a first layer and a barrier layer. The first layer may include, based on the total weight of the first layer, from 90 wt. % to 99.5 wt. % of an ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer having a density of from 0.945 g/cc to 0.970 g/cc and from 0.5 wt. % to 10 wt. % of a compatibilizer. The compatibilizer may include an anhydride and/or carboxylic acid functionalized ethylene/alpha-olefin elastomer having a density of from 0.850 g/cc to 0.910 g/cc and a melt viscosity of greater than 200,000 cP, when measured at 177 C.

Polyolefin based compositions modified by silanes

A thermoplastic polyolefin composition which is capable of being shaped and repeatedly recycled, comprises propylene-based polymers, said composition being modified with 0.01-5 wt % of organic oligomeric silanes selected from partially hydrolyzed alkoxy substituted vinyl, allyl or methacryl silanes, and blends thereof, and 0.0005-0.5 wt % of a compound capable of generating free radicals.

A black polyester film and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The method for manufacturing the black polyester film includes: providing a recycled polyester material; physically regenerating a part of the recycled polyester material to form physically regenerated polyester chips having a first intrinsic viscosity; chemically regenerating another part of the recycled polyester material to form chemically regenerated polyester chips having a second intrinsic viscosity lower than the first intrinsic viscosity; mixing black regenerated polyester chips, the physically regenerated polyester chips, and the chemically regenerated polyester chips according to a predetermined intrinsic viscosity so as to form a polyester chip raw material; melting and then extruding the polyester chips raw material to form the black polyester film having the predetermined intrinsic viscosity.

A composition that contains a polycarbonate resin and a recycled carbon fiber, and demonstrates mechanical strength which is close to that of a case where the virgin carbon fiber is blended. RECYCLE CONTENT AMORPHOUS POLYOLEFINS

Amorphous polyolefins, such as propylene-ethylene copolymers, having a recycle content value are obtained by reacting a recycle content feedstock to make recycle content amorphous polyolefins or by deducting from a recycle inventory a recycle content value, which is applied to the amorphous polyolefins. At least a portion of the recycle content value in the feedstock or in an allotment obtained by an amorphous polyolefins manufacturer has its origin in recycled waste plastics.

A breathable and waterproof membrane is made from a modified thermoplastic polyester elastomer. The breathable and waterproof membrane has a moisture permeability of greater than or equal to 25000 g/m.sup.2.Math.day. The modified thermoplastic polyester elastomer is formed from a thermoplastic polyester elastomer, a regenerated polyethylene terephthalate, and a compatibilizer. Based on a total weight of the modified thermoplastic polyester elastomer being 100 phr, a content of the regenerated polyethylene terephthalate is greater than 0 phr and up to 50 phr. Based on a total weight of the thermoplastic polyester elastomer being 100 wt %, the thermoplastic polyester elastomer includes 25 wt % to 75 wt % of hard segments and 25 wt % to 75 wt % of soft segments.

The disclosure relates to a mechanically recyclable label (1) comprising a face (2) and an adhesive (4). The face (2) comprises ethylene containing polymer and the adhesive (4) comprises pressure sensitive adhesive. The pressure sensitive adhesive comprises at least 15 wt. % of a base polymer, at least 25 wt. % of a tackifier and at least 10 wt. % of a plasticizer. The base polymer, the tackifier and the plasticizer are colourless and odourless. The base polymer is a polyolefin. The mechanically recyclable label (1) is mechanically recyclable with packaging material comprising ethylene containing polymer. The disclosure further relates to a label laminate (8), a method for manufacturing a label laminate (8), a labelled item (101), as well as to use of a label (1) and of a label laminate (8). The disclosure also relates to use of a waste matrix of the label laminate for producing granulates of recycled plastic.
