A tread additive composition to be combined with a base composition for tire treads to achieve low rolling resistance includes an elastomeric component, a first additive component, and a second additive component. The elastomeric component includes a first silane-grafted polyolefine elastomer. The first additive component including a polymer carrier, a reinforcing filler, silane-terminated liquid polybutadienes, and one or more process activators. The second additive component including a butadiene rubber, a hydrocarbon resin, sulfur; and one or more accelerators. Advantageously, the tread additive composition can decrease rolling resistance and improve fuel economy when combined with a base tread composition as compared to treads formed from the base tread composition without the tread additive composition.

The room temperature curable sealant/adhesive composition comprises: A) one or more organopolysiloxanes; B) a hydrophilic material; C) a cross-linker; D) a titanate catalyst and/or a zirconate catalyst; and E) one or more optional ingredients. A silicone elastomer formed therefrom and related methods are also disclosed. In general, such compositions (upon several hours of contact with water) do not repel water, but rather retain and pick-up water and/or can be wetted by aqueous materials subsequent to exposure.

In a cross-linkable rubber composition the cross-linkable rubber composition comprises, per hundred parts by weight of rubber (phr): ≤50 phr of a first rubber, the first rubber being a solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR) comprising an alkoxysilane group and a primary amino group; ≥20 phr of a second rubber; and a coupling agent, a filler, and a resin, wherein the rubber composition comprises >15 phr of a third rubber; and ≥10 phr of a fourth rubber; and wherein the composition comprises ≥1 phr to ≤20 phr of at least two coupling agents wherein one of the coupling agents is or comprises a mercapto based silane and wherein the ratio of the mercapto based silane to the second coupling agent is in a range of ≥2:1 to ≤10:1.

Photo-crosslinked rubber composition, and rubber product using the same

The present invention discloses a photo-crosslinked rubber composition and application thereof. The rubber composition comprises a rubber matrix and an initiator. Based on 100 parts by weight of the rubber matrix, the rubber matrix comprises a branched polyethylene with a content represented as A, in which 0<A≤100, and an ethylene-propylene rubber with a content represented as B, in which 0≤B<100; and the initiator accounts for 0.1-10 parts, and the initiator includes at least one of a cationic photoinitiator and a free radical photoinitiator. In the rubber composition, the ethylene-propylene rubber is partially or completely replaced by the branched polyethylene. The rubber composition can be used for rubber product crosslinked by ultraviolet light, including wire, cable, film, glove, condom, and medical catheter, which achieves excellent elasticity, electrical insulation property, aging resistance and ozone resistance, and also has good mechanical strength.

The present invention relates to processes for making macromolecular networks, macromolecular networks made by such processes, and methods of using such macromolecular networks to make materials such as ceramics. The macromolecular network's formation rate is controlled by using two species of reactants each of which comprised one functionality. ROOM TEMPERATURE VULCANISABLE SILICONE COMPOSITIONS

A silicone elastomer composition which is generally storage stable, and cures to an elastomeric body, comprising; (i) an organopolysiloxane polymer having at least two hydroxyl or hydrolysable groups; (ii) a siloxane and/or silane cross-linker having at least three groups per molecule which are reactable with the hydroxyl or hydrolysable groups in the organopolysiloxane polymer (i); (iii) a solid organosilicate resin which is substantially unreactive with components (i) and (ii) and comprising R.sub.3.sup.2SiO.sub.1/2 and SiO.sub.4/2 siloxane units, wherein the molar ratio of the R.sub.3.sup.2SiO.sub.1/2 siloxane units to SiO.sub.4/2 siloxane units is from 0.5:1 to 1.2:1, and R.sup.2 is selected from hydrocarbon groups; and optionally (iv) a suitable condensation cure catalyst. The solid organosilicate resin (iii) is generally utilised to create a low modulus room temperature vulcanisable (RTV) silicone composition which when cured may be used as a coating, an adhesive or a sealant having high movement capability.
