POLYMER FOR POWER CABLE INSULATION
A multimodal polyethylene composition having a lower molecular weight (LMW) ethylene homo or copolymer component (A) and a higher molecular weight ethylene copolymer component (B); wherein the lower molecular weight component comprises: (ai) a first fraction which comprises an ethylene homo or copolymer of ethylene and one or more C3-10 alpha olefins; and (aii) a N second fraction which comprises a different ethylene homo or copolymer of ethylene and one or more C3-10 alpha olefins; wherein the multimodal polymer composition has a density of 930 kg/m.sup.3 or more (ISO1183), such as 938 to 955 kg/m.sup.3, an MFR2 (ISO1133 at 190° C. and 2.16 kg load) in the range of 0.05 to 10 g/10 min, and a flexural modulus of up to 800 MPa, such as 300 to 800 MPa (ISO 178:2010).
POLYMER FORMULATIONS AND IRRIGATION TUBING INCLUDING POLYMER FORMULATIONS
Embodiments of polyethylene formulations and articles comprising polyethylene formulations are disclosed. The polyethylene formulation may include from 45 wt. % to 90 wt. % of an MDPE having a density of from 0.930 g/cc to 0.950 g/cc and a melt index (I.sub.2) from 0.05 g/10 min to 0.5 g/10 min; from 10 wt. % to 50 wt. % of a polyethylene composition having a density from 0.910 g/cc to 0.936 g/cc and a melt index (I.sub.2) from 0.7 g/10 min to 1.0 g/10 min; and from 0.5 wt. % to 5% of a masterbatch composition. The polyethylene composition may comprise a first polyethylene fraction area in a temperature range of 45° C. to 87° C. of an elution profile via improved comonomer composition distribution (iCCD) analysis method and a second polyethylene fraction area in a temperature range of 95° C. to 120° C. of an elution profile via iCCD.
Polyolefin
The present invention relates to polyolefin. More specifically, the present invention relates to polyolefin having excellent dart drop impact strength, and exhibiting improved transparency, and such polyolefin has a density of 0.915 g/cm3 to 0.930 g/cm3 measured according to ASTM D1505; and satisfies the following requirements (provided that S1+S2+S3=1), when measuring the relative content of peak area according to melting temperature (Tm) using SSA (Successive Self-nucleation and Annealing) analysis: the content(S1) of peak area at Tm less than 100° C. is 0.33 to 0.35; the content(S2) of peak area at Tm of 100° C. or more and 120° C. or less is 0.52 to 0.56; and the content(S3) of peak area at Tm greater than 120° C. is 0.10 to 0.14.
FUNCTIONAL ETHYLENE AND 1,3-DIENE COPOLYMERS
The invention relates to a copolymer of ethylene and of a 1,3-diene of formula CH.sub.2═CR—CH═CH.sub.2, which copolymer bears a silanol or alkoxysilane function, the symbol R representing a hydrocarbon chain having from 3 to 20 carbon atoms. Such a copolymer improves the compromise between the content of ethylene in the polymer, its crystallinity and the stiffness of a rubber composition containing it.
PROPYLENE COMPOSITION FOR FOAMING WITH IMPROVED MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
A polypropylene composition (C) comprising: i) from 55.0 to 95.0 wt.-% of a heterophasic propylene copolymer (HECO), ii) from 5.0 to 45.0 wt. -% of a copolymer (CP), preferably a random copolymer, of propylene and at least one comonomer selected from the group of C4-C10 alpha-olefins that has been synthesized in the presence of a single-site catalyst, wherein the polypropylene composition (C) has a melt flow rate MFR2 of from 1.0 to 30.0 g/10 min, and wherein the polypropylene composition (C) has a Charpy Notched Impact Strength NIS of greater than or equal to 16.0 kJ/m2.
Flame Retardant Polymer Composition
The present invention relates to a flame retardant polymer composition comprising at least the following components A) 2.0 to 49.8 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a copolymer comprising ethylene units and units selected from the group consisting of methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate and mixtures thereof; B) 0.1 to 6.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a polyethylene and/or polypropylene containing units originating from maleic acid anhydride; C) 0.1 to 5.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a silicone fluid and/or a silicon gum; D) 50.0 to 70.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a magnesium hydroxide; and E) 0 to 17.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a copolymer of ethylene and a C4 to C10 alpha olefin comonomer having a density in the range of 860 kg/m3 to 950 kg/m.sup.3 determined according to ISO 1183; wherein the weight proportions of components A) to E) add up to 100 wt.-%. In addition, the present invention refers to a wire or cable comprising at least one layer comprising the polymer composition according to the present invention and to the use of the polyolefin composition according to the present invention as a flame retardant layer of a wire or cable.
Olefin-based polymer
The present invention relates to an olefin-based polymer, which has (1) a density (d) ranging from 0.850 to 0.865 g/cc, (2) a melt index (MI, 190° C., 2.16 kg load conditions) ranging from 0.1 g/10 min to 3.0 g/10 min, and (3) a soluble fraction (SF) of 10 wt % or more at −20° C. in cross-fractionation chromatography (CFC), in which a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of the soluble fraction is in a range of 50,000 g/mol to 500,000 g/mol. The olefin-based polymer according to the present invention exhibits improved anti-blocking properties as a low-density olefin-based polymer.
GOLF BALL MATERIAL, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND GOLF BALL
A golf ball material contains (i) fine particles that have an average particle size of less than 300 μm and are composed of a crosslinked multi-component copolymer having conjugated diene units, non-conjugated olefin units and aromatic vinyl units; and (ii) a thermoplastic resin. The conjugated diene units include butadiene units, the non-conjugated olefin units include units selected from the group consisting of ethylene, propylene and 1-butene units, the aromatic vinyl units include styrene units, and the content of the conjugated diene units in the multi-component copolymer is 5 wt % or more. This golf ball material is soft, has an excellent rebound resilience and also has a good processability.
