A snap-type fastener arrangement includes various elements. For example, the snap-type fastener arrangement includes a socket component and a stud component. The stud component is insertable into the socket component to releasably couple two items together. The snap-type fastener includes a construction having a relatively low profile that does not extensively protrude outward from the underlying article to which the snap-type fastener is attached. The socket component includes a portion for securing the socket component to a textile layer and a central portion that extends through the textile layer. The stud component may be inserted into a socket aperture in the central portion of the socket in order to mate the two components.

A snap button can include a snap button body and a fastener connected to the snap button body with a cloth interposed between them, wherein the snap button body includes a button member including a base; and a metal eyelet attached to an inner surface of the base, the inner surface being placed to face the cloth, wherein the button member includes an engaging portion provided on an outer surface opposite to the inner surface of the base, wherein the fastener includes a fastener base and a pin to be swaged, which protrudes from an inner surface of the fastener base, the inner surface being placed to face the cloth, and wherein the eyelet includes a cylindrical portion receiving the pin, the cloth being pierced by the pin, and the pin being swaged on the inner surface of the base of the button member.

This male member of a snap fastener is provided with a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion is composed of a plastic material, and the second portion is composed of a metal portion. An article includes a first garment, a second garment, and a waterproof fastener system configured to join the first garment to the second. The waterproof fastener includes: a first annular gasket, coupled to the first garment, the first annular gasket including a flexible substrate and a continuous groove radially oriented on the first garment such that an engagement direction thereof is oriented 90 degrees relative to a longitudinal direction of the first garment, and a second annular gasket coupled to the second garment, the second annular gasket including a second flexible substrate and a continuous rib radially oriented on the second garment such that an engagement direction thereof is oriented 90 degrees relative to a longitudinal direction of the second garment. The continuous groove is configured to receive the continuous rib to form a waterproof interference fit.

A connection device that facilitates easy manual connector assembly and disassembly, however, having the ability to semi securely hold the connectors together with a progressive frictional interference fit that can be disassembled with some additional manual frictional force, further, the connector assembly can desirably have a rotational lock interface to prevent inadvertent relative rotation between the connector assembly, in addition the connector assembly would have piloting interface to add bending moment resistance to the connector interface.

The snap button body includes a base; a pin to be swaged, which protrudes from an inner surface of the base, the inner surface being placed to face the cloth; and an engaging portion provided on an outer surface opposite to the inner surface of the base. The cap comprises a cap body including a cap base; and a metal eyelet attached to an inner surface of the cap base, the inner surface being placed to face the cloth. The eyelet comprises a cylindrical portion for receiving the pin which has pierced the cloth and swaging the pin on the inner surface of the cap base.

A snap button includes a male component and a female component which couple and uncouple as a result of effort in a main axial direction. The male component has a base from which there protrudes a rounded head, which is provided with a neck which is narrower than the head. The female component has a hollow body with an opening within which the head of the male component is introduced. Two flexible bars of a plastics material are mounted in the hollow body, the flexible bars having the ends thereof blocked. The distance between the central zones of the two flexible bars is lower than the dimension of the head of the male component so that they can be flexibly forced away from each other by a force exerted by the head of the male component and to resiliently move back towards each other when the force stops.

The connector assembly has at least one pawl pivotable between a retracted position and extended position, a pawl retractor, and pawl extender(s) biasing the pawl(s) toward the extended position. The male connector(s) and female connector(s) are releasably locked together by moving the pawl retractor to a position reducing a biasing force of the pawl retractor on the pawl(s) and thereby allowing a biasing force of the pawl extender(s) to pivot the pawl(s) to the extended position against an engaging surface and releasably lock the male connector(s) to the female connector(s). The male connector(s) and female connector(s) are unlocked by moving the pawl retractor to pivot the pawl(s) away from the engaging surface.

A holder for a wirelessly locatable tag may include a snap assembly coupling a first element of the holder to a second element of the holder thereby securing the wirelessly locatable tag within a recess of the holder, the snap assembly including a male assembly having a protrusion component, a female assembly defining an opening that is configured to receive the protrusion component, a groove defined in one of either the male assembly or the female assembly, a compression ring positioned in the groove and configured to retain the male assembly to the female assembly, and a compliant member positioned in the groove and providing a biasing force on the compression ring.
