Provided is an optically functional film that can contribute to the widening of the color gamut of an image display apparatus, the optically functional film being suppressed in brightness reduction and being excellent in durability. The optically functional film of the present invention includes an optically functional layer having a moisture permeability of 100 g/m.sup.2 or less, wherein the optically functional layer has an absorption peak in a wavelength band in a range of from 580 nm to 610 nm, and wherein the optically functional layer contains a compound X represented by the general formula (I) or the general formula (II).

A color material dispersion liquid including a color material, which is a salt-forming compound of an organic dye with a heteropolyoxometalate, a dispersant and a solvent, wherein the organic dye is at least one organic dye selected from the group consisting of a porphyrin dye, a tetraazaporphyrin dye, a phthalocyanine dye and a squarylium dye, and wherein the heteropolyoxometalate is a heteropolyoxometalate which has an oxidation-reduction potential larger than −0.3 V relative to the silver/silver chloride electrode.

OPTICAL FILTER AND IMAGING DEVICE
An optical filter includes: a resin substrate having a thickness of 20 μm or more and 110 μm or less; an absorption layer having a thickness of 0.25 μm or more and 12 μm or less and being disposed on at least one principal surface of the resin substrate; and dielectric multilayer films disposed as an outermost layer on both principal surfaces of the resin substrate. At least one of the dielectric multilayer films is a near-infrared reflection layer. The resin substrate includes a first transparent resin having a glass transition temperature of 170° C. or more and having specific optical properties. The absorption layer includes a near-infrared absorbing dye (A) and a second transparent resin having a glass transition temperature of 170° C. or more, and the near-infrared absorbing dye (A) satisfies specific optical properties in relation to the second transparent resin.

To provide an optical filter having shielding effects against near ultraviolet rays and near infrared rays. An optical filter comprising a transparent resin body having a single layer or multilayer structure, and containing a near ultraviolet absorbing dye (U) which is a compound represented by the following formula (U) and which has an absorption maximum at a wavelength of from 370 to 425 nm and has a molar absorptivity at the maximum absorption wavelength of at least 50,000 [L/(mol.Math.cm)], and a near infrared absorbing dye (A) which has an absorption maximum at a wavelength of from 600 to 800 nm: ##STR00001##

A near-infrared absorbing dye includes a compound represented by formula (A). Each of R.sup.11 to R.sup.14 is independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group, or an alkyl, aryl or alaryl group. Each of pairs R.sup.11 and R.sup.12, R.sup.12 and R.sup.13, and R.sup.13 and R.sup.14 may combine with one another to form a monocyclic ring or a polycyclic ring in which from 2 to 4 rings are fused. Each of R.sup.15 and R.sup.16 is independently an alkyl or alaryl group. R.sup.15 and R.sup.16 may combine with one another to form a cyclohetero ring having from 5 to 10 members together with the nitrogen atom.
