Process for encapsulating soluble biologics, therapeutics, and imaging agents
An “inverse” precipitation route to precipitate aqueous soluble species with copolymers as nanoparticles having a hydrophilic, polar core and a less polar shell is described.
Dye-loaded fluorescent polymeric nanoparticles as nano-antenna
Dye-loaded fluorescent polymeric nanoparticles working as light-harvesting nano-antenna, which efficiently transfer the excitation energy to acceptor dyes and, therefore, amplifies emission of the latter are provided.

Microlasers based dye doped polymeric resonators for brain activity stimulation and monitoring
Microlaser based dye doped polymeric resonators are provided as well as pharmaceutical formulations containing the microlaser based dye doped polymeric resonators, methods of making thereof, and methods of use thereof for monitoring and/or stimulating electrical activity in a brain of a subject in need thereof. The microlaser based dye doped polymeric resonators can include a particle having a spherical core containing one or more fluorescent dyes dispersed within a polymer matrix, wherein the polymer matrix has an index of refraction of about 1.2 or greater; an outer surface surrounding the spherical core; and a gold nanoparticle, wherein the gold nanoparticle is on the outer surface, is dispersed within the spherical core, or both. The fluorescent dyes can include a voltage sensitive fluorescent dye.
DELIVERY PARTICLE
The present application relates to encapsulated benefit agents, compositions comprising such encapsulated benefit agents and processes for making and using compositions comprising such encapsulated benefit agents. Such encapsulated benefit agents eliminate or minimize one or more of the drawbacks of current encapsulated benefit agents and thus provide formulators with additional perfume delivery opportunities.
BLACK PARTICLES, BLACK COATING MATERIAL, COATING FILM, AND BLACK MATRIX FOR COLOR FILTERS
The present invention provides black particles that have high electrical insulation and that can achieve high blackness in the visible light region, as well as a black coating material, a coating film, and a black matrix for a color filter each containing the black particles. Provided are black particles containing a copolymer including a structural unit derived from a pyrrole compound and a structural unit derived from a quinone compound, the black particles having an aqueous dispersion number average particle size of 100 nm or less and a zeta potential of −5 mV or less.
HETEROCYCLIC RED AZO COLORANTS FOR SEED TREATMENT APPLICATIONS
This invention relates to heterocyclic red azo colorants for seed treatment applications. The red azo colorants contain a heterocycle that includes one nitrogen atom and one sulfur atom and are free from electron-withdrawing groups on the heterocycle. Seeds for use in horticultural/agriculture applications that are coated with the heterocyclic azo colorants provide anti-counterfeiting properties to the coated seeds. A color change phenomenon is observed when the coated seeds are exposed to an acidic material, such as vinegar, and provides evidence of the authenticity of the coated seeds. The invention also relates to agricultural formulations containing the heterocyclic red azo colorants that can be used as an anti-counterfeit agents.
Insoluble and dispersible protein and dye-containing particles for use as colorants
Colorant particles made from an insoluble protein-based substrate to which a dye is adsorbed are disclosed. The colorant particles are highly dispersible onto solid surfaces or within liquid systems, and thus can be used as substitutes for the alumina-based lake particles that are conventionally used as colorants in consumer products, such as food or beverage products, cosmetic products, pharmaceutical products, nutraceutical products, or toys.
SPRAY-DRIED DYE COMPOSITIONS, PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF
The invention relates to spray-dried, washfast dye compositions (preferably in the form of pigment powders) having a bleeding rate of ≤0.5% and consisting of water-soluble functional dyes, preferably food dyes, which are firmly incorporated in a silica matrix. Apart from low bleeding of dye, these compositions are remarkable for their high stability to pH changes and/or ascorbic acid. The invention is also directed to the production of the dye compositions and the use thereof. The dye compositions are preferably employed in coloring foods, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, but also in other uses.
Composition, film, laminate, infrared transmitting filter, solid image pickup element, and infrared sensor
Provided is a composition with which a film that allows transmission of infrared light in a state where noise generated from visible light is small can be formed. In addition, provided are a film, a laminate, an infrared transmitting filter, a solid image pickup element, and an infrared sensor. This composition includes: a coloring material that allows transmission of infrared light and shields visible light; an infrared absorber; and a curable compound, in which the infrared absorber includes a material that shields light in a wavelength range of longer than 1000 nm and 1200 nm or shorter. In the composition, a ratio A/B of a minimum value A of an absorbance of the composition in a wavelength range of 400 to 1100 nm to a maximum value B of an absorbance of the composition in a wavelength range of 1400 to 1500 nm is 4.5 or higher.
