The hook-and-loop fastener female member of the present invention includes an engaging layer engageable with a male member, in which the engaging layer includes a non-woven fabric of fiber, in which the non-woven fabric in the engaging layer has a density of from 5 kg/m.sup.3 to 110 kg/m.sup.3, and in which the fiber has a diameter of from 15 μm to 60 μm.
Double-sided fasteners
A method for forming a double-sided loop strap includes: receiving a continuous longitudinal strip of loop material including a strip-form base bearing a field of upstanding loops on a fastening side of the strip bounded by opposite longitudinal edges, folding each of the longitudinal edges away from the fastening side, such that the base overlaps itself, and securing the folded edges in place by permanently bonding together overlapped areas of the base to form the double-sided loop strap.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ACTIVATED INTERLOCKING FASTENERS AND SEALS
An active interlocking fastener system is adapted to control an interlock in response to an external stimulus. The interlocking fastener system includes a first element including a plurality of first interlocking fasteners. The interlocking fastener system also includes a second element including a plurality of second interlocking fasteners configured to couple to the first plurality of interlocking fasteners. The plurality of first interlocking fasteners or the plurality of second interlocking fasteners includes a reactive material configured to vary a mechanical engagement between the plurality of first interlocking fasteners and the plurality of second interlocking fasteners as a function of the external stimulus.
Male touch fastener elements
A male touch fastener product with a resin surface and an array of spaced-apart male touch fastener elements carried on the surface. Each touch fastener element has a stem extending from the surface and a head disposed at a distal end of the stem and extending laterally from the stem to a distal edge overhanging the surface. The head, stem and surface form a contiguous mass of resin, the head. The distal edge has multiple toes extending laterally outward and varying in shape and size about the edge, with adjacent toes having facing, free-form resin surfaces defining crevices therebetween. The fastener element is particularly flexible and engages with very fine fibers.
TONNEAU COVER SYSTEM WITH INSERT FOR SUPPORTING CROSS-BOW MEMBERS
A frame rail assembly for supporting a tonneau cover comprising: opposing frame rails locatable on a cargo area of a vehicle, each of the opposing frame rails having one or more slots formed therein; and one or more inserts that fit within the one or more slots respectively; wherein the one or more inserts are shaped to fit substantially flush with a transverse cross-sectional profile of the opposing frame rails.
LOOP ELEMENT OF HOOK/LOOP FASTENER AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A hook-and-loop fastener has a hook element comprising a substrate having a face from which projects a multiplicity of hooks and a loop element formed by of a fiber web. The fiber web is formed by a homogenous mixture of first multicomponent filaments each formed by a high-melting-point polymer and a low-melting-point polyolefinic polymer and second polyolefinic monocomponent filaments. The first filaments constitute between 20% and 80% by weight of the mixture. The fiber web has a face formed with a patterned array of dense bonded regions of a predetermined small thickness interspersed with less dense open regions of a predetermined big thickness substantially greater than the small thickness of the small thickness interspersed with less dense open regions of a predetermined big thickness substantially greater than the small thickness of the bonded regions so that the filaments of the open regions form loops.
METHOD FOR PROVIDING A LAMINATE WITH A HOOK AND LOOP FASTENING VOLUME, AND RESULTING LAMINATE
The invention relates to a laminate comprising at least one support element in the form of a non-woven fabric selected from the group consisting of an SM (Spunbond-Meltblown), an SMS (Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond), an SMMS (Spunbond-Meltblown-Meltblown-Spunbond), and an SSMMS (Spunbond-Spunbond-Meltblown-Meltblown-Spunbond), having a lower face and an upper face, and at least one non-woven fabric with loops made of a material comprising synthetic thermoplastic polymers, having a lower face and an upper face. The upper face of the support element is secured to the lower face of the non-woven fabric with loops. The curve representing the force required to stretch the laminate along a given axis of the laminate, as a function of elongation, includes a segment in which, starting from a zero elongation value, the force increases from zero up to a maximum force, where the maximum force corresponds to the rupture of the laminate, and the curve comprises an inflection point (Pi) on the segment.
Fastener integrated with a fabric spacer
Examples of a fastener integrated with a fabric spacer are disclosed. The fastener comprises a first part with a first fastening member that has an eyelet with a base secured to a top surface of a first tape. The bottom surface of the tape is bonded to a fabric spacer. The fastener further comprises a second part with a second fastening member that has a hooking end. The second fastening member is secured to a second fabric. The hooking end of the second fastening member is configured to releasably engage the eyelet of the first fastening member to bring close together the first part and the second part of the fastener.
Fastening systems comprising nonwoven substrates with hooks formed integrally thereon
