FASTENING TABS
A fastening tab for an absorbent article, the fastening tab comprising a proximal end and a distal end, said proximal end comprising a backing including a first major surface and a second major surface, wherein said first major surface is provided with a release surface, wherein the fastening tab further comprises a mechanical fastening patch, said patch comprising on one side male fastening elements and on the opposite side an adhesive, wherein the patch is releasably attached to the release surface via the adhesive, said distal end comprising a backing including a first major surface and a second major surface, wherein said first major surface has a structure or is provided with a structure that is adapted to be releasably engaged by said male fastening elements of the patch. Fastening tapes comprising a plurality of such fastening tabs, wherein the fastening tabs are arranged in an endless form on the tape so that individual fastening tabs can be provided from the fastening tape by cutting the tape across its width and rolls of such fastening tapes.
Tufted fibrous web
Disclosed is a fibrous web having a first region and at least one discrete integral second region, the second region having at least one portion being a discontinuity exhibiting a linear orientation and defining a longitudinal axis, and at least another portion being a deformation having a plurality of tufted fibers integral with but extending from the first region.
Method of making a mechanical fastener using a crowned surface
A method of making a mechanical fastener. The method includes providing a slit web having mechanical fastening elements, applying tension to the slit web in the machine direction, and spreading the slit web in the cross-machine direction by moving the slit web over a crowned surface to provide a spread mechanical fastening web. The slit web includes a plurality of interrupted slits that are interrupted by intact bridging regions of the web. The crowned surface may be an air bearing, or at least a portion of the crowned surface is a low-friction surface, and the crowned surface and the slit web are not moving at the same speed in the same direction. The crowned surface may be provided with at least one ridge.
METHOD FOR PROVIDING A LAMINATE WITH A HOOK AND LOOP FASTENING VOLUME, AND RESULTING LAMINATE
The invention relates to a laminate (1) comprising at least one support element (2), for example a nonwoven fabric, in particular an SMS nonwoven, and at least one nonwoven loop fabric (3), in particular a carded nonwoven, secured to the support element (1), in particular by means of calendaring with the first nonwoven fabric, characterised in that the curve representing the force required to stretch the laminate along a given axis (e.g. the MD axis or the CD axis of the laminate) as a function of elongation, comprises a segment in which, starting from a zero elongation value, the force increases from zero up to a maximum force, corresponding in particular to the rupture of the laminate, and the curve comprises an inflection point (Pi) on said segment.
STRIP OR LAP COMPRISING LOOPS, IN THE FORM OF A LAMINATE WITH PRINTED PATTERNS
The invention relates to a strip or lap comprising loops, in the form of a laminate with printed patterns. The laminate for forming a loop strip or lap, in particular the landing zone of nappies, includes at least one nonwoven layer having a lower face and an upper face opposite the lower face; at least one layer of ink applied to the upper face of at least the nonwoven layer; and at least one external textile layer from which loops project externally in order to engage with hooks of a self-fastening hook and loop device, at least one textile layer being secured to the upper face of at least the nonwoven layer.
Method of making a mechanical fastener using diverging disks
A method of making a mechanical fastener. The method includes providing a slit web having mechanical fastening elements, applying tension to the slit web in the machine direction, and spreading the slit web in the cross-machine direction by directing its side edges over two rotating diverging disks to provide a spread mechanical fastening web. The slit web includes a plurality of interrupted slits that are interrupted by intact bridging regions of the web. The two rotating diverging disks are laterally spaced and have a support surface between them that contacts the slit web during the spreading. The spread mechanical fastening web includes multiple strands of the slit web attached to each other at least at some of the intact bridging regions and separated from each other between at least some of the intact bridging regions.
FASTENER MEMBER FOR AFFIXATION TO A STRUCTURE IN AN ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SECURING THE SAME
A fastener member for mechanical affixation to a structure includes a base having first and second sides, a plurality of fastening elements integrally formed and extending from a first side of the base, and at least one affixation element extending from the second side of the base and arranged to mechanically affix to an attachment opening of a structure. A system includes a structure and a fastener member for mechanical affixation to the structure. A method includes affixing the fastener member to a structure.
DEPLOYABLE TOUCH FASTENER
Embodiments related to a touch fastener and its methods of manufacture and use are disclosed. In one embodiment, the touch fastener may include a substrate with a first portion and a second portion displaceable relative to the first portion. A first fastening element may be formed in the first portion. When the first portion is displaced relative to the second portion, a force and/or moment generated by the displacement may cause the first fastening element to be deployed.
Forming and applying a mated fastener assembly
A mechanical touch fastener assembly (10,101) including two longitudinally continuous tapes (16), (18) carrying engaged fastener patches (12,12a), (14,14a,14b,14c). The first tape (16) carrying a series of first fastener patches (12,12a) arranged in a row along a length of the tape (16) and carrying a field of touch fastening features. Each first patch longitudinally spaced from adjacent first patches (12,12a). The second tape (18) carrying a series of second fastener patches (14,14a,14b,14c) carrying a second field of touch fastening features. The first (16) and second (18) tapes including a release liner (22), (24). The first (16) and second (18) tapes wound together to form a roll (60), with each of the first fastener patches (12,12a) releasably engaged to a respective one of the second fastener patches (14,14a,14b,14c) by inter-engagement of the first and second touch fastening features.
