a. a calcium hydroxide suspension is initially charged,
b. carbon dioxide or a carbon dioxide-containing gas mixture is introduced into the suspension from step a. and
c. resultant calcium carbonate particles are separated off,
with 0.3% by weight to 0.7% by weight of at least one aminotrisalkylenephosphonic acid being further added.
Preferred application areas of the composite powder encompass its use as additive, especially as polymer additive, as additive substance or starting material for compounding, for the production of components, for applications in medical technology and/or in microtechnology and/or for the production of foamed articles.
The invention therefore also provides components obtainable by selective laser sintering of a composition comprising a composite powder according to the invention, except for implants for uses in the field of neurosurgery, oral surgery, jaw surgery, facial surgery, neck surgery, nose surgery and ear surgery as well as hand surgery, foot surgery, thorax surgery, rib surgery and shoulder surgery.
The invention also provides the sphere-shaped calcium carbonate particles which can advantageously be used to produce the composite particles according to the invention, and the use thereof.
Method for producing an implant comprising calcium carbonate-containing composite powder having microstructured particles having inhibiting calcium carbonate
The invention relates to a method for producing an implant by means of a composite powder having micro structured particles having inhibiting calcium carbonate, wherein the composite powder is obtained by a method in that large polymer particles are joined to small calcium carbonate particles, wherein the calcium carbonate particles are obtained by a method in that calcium carbonate particles are coated with a composition which, in each case based on the total weight thereof, comprises a mixture of at least 0.1 wt % of at least one calcium complexing agent and/or at least one conjugated base which is an alkaline metal or calcium salt of a weak acid, together with at least 0.1 wt % of at least one weak acid.
ZINC OXIDE-CONTAINING COMPOSITE PARTICLES, ULTRAVIOLET-SHIELDING COMPOSITION, AND COSMETIC
Zinc oxide-containing composite particles of the present invention each include: a dense matrix formed of silica and a polysilsesquioxane; and zinc oxide particles dispersed within the matrix. The content of the polysilsesquioxane in the matrix is 30 mass % to 70 mass %. The zinc oxide-containing composite particles of the present invention have high acid resistance and are capable of maintaining acid resistance even upon contact with water.
INORGANIC OXIDE MICROPARTICLES HAVING AMPHIPHILIC ORGANIC SILANE COMPOUND BONDED THERETO, ORGANIC SOLVENT DISPERSION THEREOF, AND COMPOSITION FOR FILM FORMATION
A dispersion that inorganic oxide microparticles may be dispersed at a high concentration in a solvent, a composition for film formation having high transparency, high refractive index and adhesion to a base layer. Inorganic oxide microparticles wherein an amphiphilic organosilicon compound having one or more selected from a polyoxyethylene group, a polyoxypropylene group, or a polyoxybutylene group as a hydrophilic group, and one or more selected from a C.sub.1-18 alkylene group or a vinylene group as a hydrophobic group bonded to a surface of modified metal oxide colloidal particles (C) having a primary particle diameter of 2 to 100 nm, the modified metal oxide colloidal particles wherein a surface of metal oxide colloidal particles (A) having a primary particle diameter of 2 to 60 nm as a nucleus is coated with a coating material (B) including metal oxide colloidal particles having a primary particle diameter of 1 to 4 nm.
Carbon nanostructure preblends and their applications
A method for preparing a preblend of nanostructured carbon, such as nanotubes, fullerenes, or graphene, and a particulate solid, such as polymer beads, carbon black, graphitic particles or glassy carbon involving wet-mixing and followed by optional drying to remove the liquid medium. The preblend may be in the form of a core-shell powder material with the nanostructured carbon as the shell on the particulate solid core. The preblend may provide particularly improved dispersion of single-walled nanotubes in ethylene--olefin elastomer compositions, resulting in improved reinforcement from the nanotubes. The improved elastomer compositions may show simultaneous improvement in both modulus and in elongation at break. The elastomer compositions may be formed into useful rubber articles.
COATING FILM-FORMING COMPOSITION AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A coating film-forming composition includes a hydrolysis-condensation product of a hydrolyzable silane and fine inorganic particles subjected to a special dispersion treatment, that can be formed into a highly heat-resistant, highly transparent coating film capable of exhibiting a high refractive index and having a large thickness and excellent storage stability as a coating composition; and a process for producing the coating film-forming composition.
