Method for producing surface-treated colored inorganic particles
The present invention provides a method that enables production of a surface-treated colored inorganic particle with which the desired color tone can be consistently reproduced as intended with no variation occurring in the color tone of the compositions produced with the particle, within each production and over multiple production runs. The invention relates to a method for producing a surface-treated colored inorganic particle, comprising spray drying a mixture of a dispersion [I] and a solution [II], wherein the dispersion [I] is a dispersion of inorganic particles having an average particle diameter of 0.005 to 5 μm dispersed in a solvent with a pigment, and the solution [II] is a solution of a surface treatment agent hydrolyzed in the presence of a hydrolysis aid.
PIGMENT AND INK FOR THE DECORATION OF CERAMIC OBJECTS
Pigments and inks for the decoration of ceramic objects, which have, in their formulation, iron and phosphorus oxides, combined with lithium oxide, the presence of this latter element being that which gives the pigments the capacity of being milled (in the form of a suspension in a solvent base) to the point of being able to obtain inks that are characterised by having very narrow PSD and an upper bound of less than 1 μm. Thanks to this PSD, inks prepared using these pigments can be applied in standard printing heads to glazed ceramic objects, enabling a metallic gloss and appearance to be obtained after said ceramic objects undergo a firing process. The ink obtain has a low viscosity, allowing an increase in the concentration of the pigment and thus an increase in its yield, optimizing gloss and the metallic appearance of the finished ceramic objects.
COATING COMPOSITION, COATED ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR FORMING MULTILAYER COATING FILM
A coating composition includes a binder component (A), a flake-like aluminum pigment (B) having an average particle diameter (d50) of 18 μm to 25 μm, and a flake-like pigment (C) being a flake-like pigment other than flake-like aluminum pigments and having an average particle diameter (d50) of 8 μm to 30 μm. A content of the flake-like aluminum pigment (B) is 10 parts by mass to 50 parts by mass and a content of the flake-like pigment (C) is 0.5 parts by mass to 10 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of the binder component (A). A content ratio (B)/(C) of the flake-like aluminum pigment (B) to the flake-like pigment (C) is 2/1 to 50/1 in terms of a solid content mass ratio.

The present invention provides compositions with increased color shade stability comprising organic pigments and TiO.sub.2. The combination of specific ingredients disclosed herein prevents the color migration often associated with organic pigments including azo based dyes and lakes.

A reflective granular composition including a reflective pigment material including a majority of kaolin clay and a hardening additive including a sodium salt or another salt. A method for making a reflective granular composition includes the steps of mixing together a reflective pigment material including a majority of kaolin clay and a hardening additive including a sodium salt or another salt to form a particulate mixture, forming a slurry from the particulate mixture by adding to the particulate mixture water and a binder material, granulating the slurry, drying the granulated slurry, and kilning the dried, granulated slurry to form the reflective granular composition. Methods of analyzing the strength of a reflective granular composition are also disclosed.
Calcium-salt-containing composite powder having microstructured particles
A composite powder containing microstructured particles obtainable by means of a method in which large particles are combined with small particles, wherein the large particles have an average particle diameter within the range from 10 μm to 10 mm, the large particles comprise at least one polymer, the small particles are arranged on the surface of the large particles and/or distributed inhomogeneously within the large particles, the small particles comprise a calcium salt, the small particles have an average particle size within the range from 0.01 μm to 1.0 mm,
wherein the particles of the composite powder have an average particle size d.sub.50 within the range from 10 μm to less than 200 μm, and the fine-particle fraction of the composite powder is less than 50% by volume. Preferred application areas of the composite powder encompass its use as additive, especially as polymer additive, as additive substance or starting material for compounding, for compounding, for the production of components, for applications in medical technology and/or in microtechnology and/or for the production of foamed articles. The invention therefore also provides components obtainable by selective laser sintering of a composition comprising a composite powder according to the invention, except for implants for uses in the field of neurosurgery, oral surgery, jaw surgery, facial surgery, neck surgery, nose surgery and ear surgery as well as hand surgery, foot surgery, thorax surgery, rib surgery and shoulder surgery.
Powder mixture
A powder mixture including spherical barium titanate particles and spherical oxide particles and having an average particle diameter of 2 μm or more and 30 μm or less, wherein the spherical oxide particles have an average particle diameter of 0.05 μm or more and 1.5 μm or less, and the spherical oxide particles are contained in an amount of 0.02% by mass or more and 15% by mass or less based on the powder mixture. The spherical oxide particles are preferably amorphous silicon dioxide particles and/or aluminum oxide particles. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a spherical barium titanate-based powder which enables to prepare a high dielectric resin composition with which reduced wire sweep amount and burr are achieved.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a composite pigment, and production method thereof, which can suppress luster of a coating film by modifying an inorganic coloring pigment, and which can be used in various applications such as low-gloss (luster reduction effect) pigments and matte pigments; a paint composition which can achieve both an excellent coating film texture and also the property of having low gloss and luster even when added to a coating film; and a coating film. In this composite pigment, the inorganic coloring pigment is fixed by an inorganic compound, and a plurality of particles of the inorganic coloring pigment are aggregated into granular form through the inorganic compound.
