Carbonate Pigments, and Methods for Making and Using the Same
Carbonate pigment compositions are provided. In some instances, the pigment compositions are CO2 sequestering pigment compositions. Also provided are methods of making and using the pigment compositions, e.g., in paints and coatings, as well as other applications.
Use of surface-reacted calcium carbonate as anti-blocking agent
The present invention relates to the use of a surface-reacted calcium carbonate as an anti-blocking agent in polymer(s) containing compositions, wherein the surface-reacted calcium carbonate is a reaction product of natural ground or precipitated calcium carbonate with carbon dioxide and one or more H.sub.3O.sup.+ ion donors in an aqueous medium, wherein the carbon dioxide is formed in situ by the H.sub.3O.sup.+ ion donors treatment and/or is supplied from an external source, an anti-blocking agent comprising surface-reacted calcium carbonate or a combination of surface reacted calcium carbonate and mineral material, a method for controlling the blocking of polymer(s) containing compositions, a polymer(s) containing composition comprising surface reacted calcium carbonate or a combination of surface reacted calcium carbonate and mineral material, a coating composition comprising such polymer(s) containing composition, as well as a substrate coated with such coating composition.
Stretchable conductor sheet and paste for forming stretchable conductor sheet
A first object of the present invention is to provide a stretchable conductor sheet that exhibits isotropic conductivity when stretched in a predetermined direction or in a direction perpendicular to the predetermined direction, and a paste for forming a stretchable conductor sheet, which is used for the stretchable conductor sheet. A second object of the present invention is to provide a stretchable conductor sheet having a small change in specific resistance even when repeatedly twisted, and a paste for forming a stretchable conductor sheet, which is used for the stretchable conductor sheet. A third object of the present invention is to provide a stretchable conductor sheet having a small change in specific resistance even when repeatedly washed, and a paste for forming a stretchable conductor sheet, which is used for the stretchable conductor sheet. The first object of the present invention can accomplish a stretchable conductor sheet having a thickness of 3 to 800 μm, the stretchable conductor sheet comprising at least conductive particles, inorganic particles surface-treated with a hydroxide and/or an oxide of one or both of Al and Si, and a flexible resin having a tensile elastic modulus of 1 MPa or more and 1000 MPa or less, wherein in each of two orthogonal directions, a specific resistance change ratio of the sheet at a time of elongation by 40% with respect to an original length is less than ±10% in an elongation direction.
COLLOIDAL SILICA COATED MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE
Magnesium hydroxide having low glossiness and acid resistance which is required for coatability. The magnesium hydroxide is coated magnesium hydroxide comprising magnesium hydroxide and colloidal silica coating the surface thereof, wherein (A) the coating amount of colloidal silica is 0.1 to 20.0 wt % in terms of SiO.sub.2 based on 100 wt % of magnesium hydroxide; and (B) the coated magnesium hydroxide has a long diameter (width) of 0.5 to 20 μm, a thickness of 0.01 to 0.5 μm and an aspect ratio of not less than 10.
COLLOIDAL SILICA COATED MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE
Magnesium hydroxide having low glossiness and acid resistance which is required for coatability. The magnesium hydroxide is coated magnesium hydroxide comprising magnesium hydroxide and colloidal silica coating the surface thereof, wherein (A) the coating amount of colloidal silica is 0.1 to 20.0 wt % in terms of SiO.sub.2 based on 100 wt % of magnesium hydroxide; and (B) the coated magnesium hydroxide has a long diameter (width) of 0.5 to 20 μm, a thickness of 0.01 to 0.5 μm and an aspect ratio of not less than 10.
COOLING INFILL FOR SYNTHETIC TURF APPLICATIONS
A composition for synthetic turf infill that allows a surface of the synthetic infill to remain cool when compared to a comparative synthetic turf having an infill comprising crumbed rubber. The composition comprises a polyvinyl chloride, a plasticizer, a reflective pigment, a blowing agent, and a filler having a specific gravity greater than 2.
Basecoat and associated paperboard structure
A basecoat including a pigment blend that includes a ground calcium carbonate component and a hyperplaty clay component, wherein the ground calcium carbonate component has a coarse particle size distribution, and wherein the hyperplaty clay component has an average aspect ratio of at least 40:1.
Surface-mineralized organic fibers
The present invention relates to surface-mineralized organic fibers comprising organic fibers having a length in the millimeter range, the surface of which is at least partially coated with finely divided alkaline earth carbonate nanoparticles by means of binders based on copolymers comprising as monomers one or more dicarboxylic acids and one or more monomers from the group of diamines, triamines, dialkanolamines or trialkanolamines and epichlorohydrin, a method for producing such surface-mineralized organic fibers, aqueous slurries thereof, their use in papermaking, in surface finishing of paper, plastic, cement and clay surfaces, in paints and varnishes and the use of the inventive binders for coating the organic fibers with nano alkaline earth carbonates.
Production of high purity precipitated calcium carbonate
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of precipitated calcium carbonate comprising the steps of a) providing and calcining calcium carbonate comprising material; b) slaking the reaction product obtained from step a) with an aqueous ammonium chloride solution; c) separating insoluble components from the calcium chloride solution obtained from step b); d) carbonating the calcium chloride solution obtained from step c); e) separating the precipitated calcium carbonate obtained from step d); the precipitated calcium carbonate obtained by this process, as well as uses thereof.
Preparation of pigments
The present invention relates to an aqueous calcium carbonate containing composition, to methods for producing such aqueous calcium carbonate containing compositions and to the use of the aqueous calcium carbonate containing composition in paper, paper coating, plastics and/or paint applications and as filler in paper.
