The invention also relates to a use in prevention or treatment of a disorder in a mammal, such as a human and use of treating animated and non-animated surfaces.

Water soluble barrier coatings for washout tooling for a composite layup

A washout tooling for a composite layup is provided. The washout tooling comprises a casting mold having an exterior surface. The casting mold comprises a particulate material and a water-soluble binder. The casting mold is adapted to break down in the presence of an aqueous solution. The washout tooling further comprises a water-soluble coating layer overlying the exterior surface. The water-soluble coating layer is adapted to break down in the presence of an aqueous solution. The washout tooling further comprises a curable composite layer overlying the water-soluble coating layer. The water-soluble coating layer minimizes contact between the particulate material and the curable composite layer.

SURFACTANT ADDITIVES FOR DIGITAL MICROFLUIDIC DEVICES FOR HIGH PROTEIN CONTENT DROPLETS TRANSPORT

Disclosed herein is a surfactant additive, ethylenediamine tetrakis(ethoxylate-block-propoxylate) tetrol with 16 ethylene oxide repeat units and 18 propylene oxide repeat units (known by its trade name as Tetronic 90R4) used as a droplet-additive, or to coat DMF driving electrode surfaces which dramatically improves the capability to work with high-protein-content liquids (e.g., whole blood) on digital microfluidic chips. This surfactant prevents protein adsorption and fouling of DMF electrode surfaces to an extent that was heretofore impossible. Specifically, this surfactant allows for the manipulation of droplets of undiluted whole blood for >1 hour per electrode (>1 50 times better than what is possible for any known additive). This improvement in handling high protein content media will revolutionize blood-based diagnostics on digital microfluidic platforms.

The invention concerns a removable composition formed by at least: a polyamide or a copolyamide or a mixture of polyamides or a mixture of copolyamides or a mixture of at least one polyamide and at least one copolyamide, the polyamide(s) and copolyamide(s) being soluble in alcohol, and an expansion agent, the maximum expansion temperature of which is greater than the melting point of the polyamide or the copolyamide or of the mixture. The invention also relates to assemblies comprising such a composition, the use thereof and a method for detaching the composition.

REMOVABLE FLOOR CARE COMPOSITION WITH RESISTANCE TO ALCOHOL

A floor care composition includes pre-made polymer particles in a liquid vehicle as well as a non-ionic crosslinking agent. The polymer particles include a relatively narrow ratio of hydro-philic to hydrophobic regions or components, a generally non-uniform morphology, and a relatively small number of carboxyl groups. When used in floor care formulations with the correct amount and type of crosslinking compounds, a resulting floor care finish can be both resistant to alcohols such as ethanol and readily removable.

WATER-BASED PEELABLE COATING

The present disclosure develops a water-based peelable coating that can be colored and that when drying at room temperature makes it possible to temporarily protect various surfaces and their manufacturing processes. Notably, the present invention relates to a coating designed by using exclusively naturally occurring polymeric materials, which can be applied by various methods and be used outdoors or indoors on clear, rough and smooth substrates, except woven materials, so as to provide protection and beautification.

Removable, aqueous-based compositions

Removable, aqueous-based compositions, especially sealants useful for, inter alia, temporary craft applications and seasonal weatherization of buildings and methods of their use are disclosed. These sealants reduce the flammability risks and lingering odor problems associated using solvent-based systems, particularly during application. These compositions do not rely on additives that disrupt the adhesion of the compositions to the substrate and that leave undesirable residue on the substrate.
