The present invention relates to ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer particles, comprising an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer having an ethylene unit content of 1 mol % or more and less than 20 mol %, a viscosity-average polymerization degree of 200 to 5000, and a saponification degree of 80 to 99.99 mol %, wherein a crystallinity in water Cw (30° C.) at 30° C. and a crystallinity in water Cw (70° C.) at 70° C. as determined by pulse NMR satisfy formula (I). There is thus provided ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer particles having excellent solubility in water and excellent gas barrier performance.

Provided herein are surface treated pigments and methods of making and using the surface treated pigments. The surface treated pigments can comprise a mineral pigment surface treated with a hydrophilic latex composition and a hydrophobic material, which produce a film on an outer surface of the pigment. The hydrophobic material can be selected from a silane, a siloxane, or a siloxane/silicone resin blend, wax, fatty acid, styrene-butadiene latex, or a mixture thereof. The hydrophilic latex composition can be selected from a straight (meth)acrylic latex emulsion, a styrene-(meth)acrylic latex emulsion, or a blend thereof. The surface treated pigment has a surface energy that is less than a surface energy of the mineral pigment alone, a water contact angle of at least 90° and a dodecane contact angle of less than 150°.

The present application relates to a two-component aqueous sealing primer for wood, comprising: Component A: a film-forming resin composition comprising at least one aqueous emulsion of cationic resin and optionally at least one additional additive; and Component B: a curing agent composition comprising at least one polyisocyanate.

The formed sealing coating can substantially seal the tannin, grease, and other substances in the wood, and has good sandability.

All-weather self-healing stretchable conductive material and preparation method thereof

Disclosed is a preparation method of an all-weather self-healing stretchable conductive material, which uses acrylic acid and modified polyglutamic acid as a substrate, adds Fe.sup.3+ to form coordination, adjusts the volume ratio of water and glycerin, and heats to generate radical polymerization, so as to obtain a uniform double-layer three-dimensional network structure. The obtained polyacrylic acid and polyglutamic acid composite hydrogel has good mechanical properties and characteristics of rapid self-healing. A composite carbon film is prepared by depositing a metal layer of 20 nm to 80 nm thick on a single-layer aligned carbon film by magnetron sputtering, and then the composite hydrogel is adhered to each of the upper and lower sides of the composite carbon film respectively to form an all-weather self-healing stretchable conductive material of a sandwich structure. The preparation method of the invention is simple, the source of raw materials is plenty, and the obtained materials have good electrical and mechanical properties and have broad application prospects in the fields of flexible stretchable devices, wearable devices, and soft-bodied robots and the like.
