Adhesion promoter for thermoplastic polyolefin substrate
An adhesion promoter for non-conductive surfaces is disclosed that combines a polyolefin with co-resins in a colloidal suspension in water. The colloidal suspension in water is prepared from mixing a solid-powder composition that includes the polyolefin and the co-resins with water. The colloidal suspension in water is applied to a low surface energy, non-conductive substrate, such as thermoplastic olefins, in order to make the substrates conductive for electrostatic painting.
Multifunctional Smart Particles
The present invention provides multifunctional particulates that release one or more functional compounds in response to environmental triggers and whose external surface modification imparts secondary functionalities to a selected coating composition. For example, disclosed are hydrophobic particles having a smart release mechanism for anticorrosion compounds that release the anticorrosion compounds upon exposure to the local pH changes induced by corrosion processes. Formulations are disclosed for multifunctional smart particles having antimicrobial effects and protections as well.
Systems and Methods for UV-Reflective Paints with High Overall Solar Reflectance for Passive Cooling
As climate change and global energy consumption manifest in rising global temperatures and heat-islands, cooling living environments has become an urgent challenge. In developed settings, air-conditioning of buildings consumes energy, generates heat and releases greenhouse gases—exacerbating cooling needs. In developing regions, such as South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, inadequate power infrastructure for cooling buildings has led to rising casualties during summers. Passive cooling technologies, which are sustainable alternatives to active cooling methods are provided. Systems and methods for passive radiative cooling coatings are provided as an effective approach for passive daytime radiative cooling of buildings.
COMPOSITIONS FOR INHIBITING CORROSION
The present disclosure relates to agents, compositions, and methods for inhibiting corrosion in various substrates, for example in metal substrates. The present disclosure also relates to compositions for inhibiting corrosion comprising at least one organic heterocyclic compound and at least one metal salt or mixed metal salt selected from rare earth, alkali earth and transition metals.
FIREPLACE MANTEL AND RELATED METHODS
A mantel for a fireplace includes a mantel body and a heat resistant coating. The mantel body has a frame, wherein each portion of the frame is formed of a first heat resistant material. The mantel body also has an overlay housing secured to the frame, wherein each portion of the overlay housing is formed of a second heat resistant material. The heat resistant coating is applied to the mantel body and is more particularly a powder coating.

THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE AND ELECTRICALLY INSULATING POWDER COATING COMPOSITIONS
The present invention is directed towards a powder coating composition comprising a binder; a thermally conductive, electrically insulative filler material; and, optionally, a thermoplastic material and/or a core-shell polymer. The present invention is also directed to a substrate comprising a coating layer deposited from the powder coating composition of the present invention, as well as methods of coating a substrate.
Coating quality prediction device and learned model generation method
The coating quality prediction device includes: a learned model that has learned a relationship between characteristics of a paint, conditions at a time of applying the paint, and a smoothness of a surface of a coating film obtained by applying the paint under the conditions; and a calculation unit that uses the learned model to calculate the smoothness of the surface of the coating film from the characteristics of the paint and the conditions at the time of applying the paint.
THERMAL SPRAY MATERIAL
This thermal spray material including composite particles containing an yttrium oxide and an ammonium yttrium fluoride complex salt is used to form a thermal spray film comprising yttrium oxyfluoride formed by thermal-spraying in the air. When the thermal spray film is formed through thermal-spraying in the air by using the thermal spray material of the present invention, the loss of fluorine from the thermal spraying material during thermal-spraying is reduced, and a thermal spray film containing yttrium oxyfluoride can be formed by controlling a composition, so that a thermal spray film having a desired composition, particularly a desired F/Y, can be easily formed.
