COATING COMPOSITION FOR SURFACE REPAIR OF TURBOMACHINE COMPONENTS AND COMPRESSOR COMPONENTS

A coating composition for coating of components of a flow machine, especially a turbomachine such as a gas turbine with compressor, or of a compressor, which are exposed to the fluid stream of the flow machine or of the compressor, wherein the coating composition includes anticorrosion pigments, wherein the coating composition includes hard material particles, and wherein the coating composition is an RT-curing, UV-curing and/or thermally curing coating composition. A component of a flow machine or of a compressor has the coating composition. A method of maintaining a flow machine or a compressor uses the coating composition.

Resin formulation containing cure speeding inorganic particulate and use thereof as a surface marker

A surface marker resin formulation is provided that includes a linear aromatic polyester or a co-polymer thereof. The resin is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent exclusive of naphtha. An inorganic particulate having an average maximal linear extent of between 10 and 130 microns present from 22 to 41 total weight percent. A process of marking a surface includes two articles being brought into a pre-selected alignment to define a surface. A continuous bead is applied to the surface. The solvent evaporates to a state of dry-to-touch in a time of between less than 60 seconds to mark the surface. The formulation is readily applied from a pen to achieve a controlled bead width. The drying of the formulation by solvent evaporation yields full hardness in 24 hours under standard temperature and pressure as measured at 0% humidity.

THIXOTROPIC RHEOLOGY MODIFYING AGENT COMPOSITIONS

Solvents that are suitable for use with polyurethane-polyurea based rheology modifying agents of the type which, in the past, have generally been formulated as solids or viscous liquids. The present solvents enable the rheology modifying agents to be prepared and formulated in a liquid or solution form more suited to prepare coating formulations that include polyurethane-polyurea based rheology modifying agents. The present solvents are N-alkyl substituted caprolactams, including N-methyl caprolactam, N-ethyl caprolactam, N-butyl caprolactam, and mixtures thereof, which are aprotic, non-toxic, have good solvency for polar groups such as those found in polyurethanes and polyureas, are thermally stable, and have high boiling points and low vapor pressure.
