PAINT OVERSPRAY TREATMENT COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE
Overspray treatment compositions for addition to a water source located within a paint overspray waterwash system located in a spray-paint booth, or a water source that is subsequently applied to such a paint overspray waterwash system for contact with a paint overspray include an amine-functionalized colloidal silica having about 0.1 ?mol to 15.00 ?mol of amine functionality per square meter of silica surface area, and optionally a coagulant. The compositions and methods described herein work within a pH range of 6.5 and 10 to provide treated paint oversprays. Addition of a flocculant to a treated overspray results in formation of associated complexes having low tack, which may be cleanly separated from the aqueous treatment residue. The aqueous treatment residue may be subjected to one or more additional cycles of use in the paint overspray waterwash system.
Aqueous Separation Liquid and Process for Removing Paint Overspray from a Paint Spray Booth
The present invention relates to an aqueous separation liquid comprising at least 49.9 wt. % water, 5 to 50 wt. % of at least one organic water-soluble polyol, based on the total weight of the aqueous separation liquid, and at least one low molecular weight cellulose derivative as rheology modifier, and to the use of this liquid in a process for removing paint overspray from a paint spray booth.
RAPID SET AQUEOUS COATINGS
Two-part aqueous coating compositions as well as methods of using thereof are described. The first coating component can comprise one or more polymers and the second coating component can comprise a flocculant. The first coating component and the second coating component can be provided as separate aqueous compositions. The first coating component and a second coating component that can be co-applied (e.g., simultaneously or sequentially) to a surface form a rapid set coating.
WET PAINT BOOTH CIRCULATING WATER TREATMENT AGENT
A method for treating a circulating water in a wet paint booth, the method including adding a treatment agent including an aqueous solution including a tannin and an alkali metal hydroxide and/or an alkali metal carbonate to the circulating water in any of passages for the circulating water in the wet paint booth, wherein the passages include for supplying the circulating water from a water tank to a paint booth, for collecting an uncoated paint in the circulating water, and for returning the circulating water to the water tank; to detackify the uncoated paint collected in the circulating water.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING AND RECLAIMING PAINT FLUSH WASTE
Methods and compositions useful for cleaning the lines used during manufacturing processes are disclosed. In certain embodiments, the methods and compositions may be particularly useful in the manufacture of colored paints or coatings or in the use of colored paints or coatings, for example, in the manufacture of finished automobiles.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR THE REMOVAL OF PAINT FROM WATER IN AUTOMOTIVE PAINT BOOTHS
The present disclosure provides methods, compositions, additives, compounds, polymers, inorganic salts, and colloidal particles for detackifying paint. The methods may be carried out in any industrial paint system, such as in a paint spray booth. The compositions, additives, compounds, polymers, inorganic salts, and colloidal particles may be added to a location in the industrial paint system, such as a storage tank, reaction vessel, or aqueous medium, such as a recirculating washwater.
