Aqueous pigment dispersion

The present invention relates to [1] a pigment water dispersion containing pigment-containing crosslinked polymer particles, in which a crosslinked polymer in the particles is a polymer that is crosslinked with a compound represented by the general formula (1), and the pigment is a carbon black, and [2] a process for producing a pigment water dispersion containing pigment-containing crosslinked polymer particles, including the following steps: Step (1): subjecting a pigment mixture containing a water-dispersible polymer, a pigment and water to dispersion treatment, thereby obtaining an aqueous pigment dispersion solution containing pigment-containing polymer particles; and Step (2): mixing the aqueous pigment dispersion solution obtained in the step (1) and a compound represented by the general formula (1) to react the water-dispersible polymer with the compound to prepare a crosslinked polymer, thereby obtaining the pigment water dispersion containing pigment-containing crosslinked polymer particles.

The method for producing a titanium dioxide aqueous dispersion has a step for mixing the titanium dioxide particles having a hydrophobic compound on the surface, the aqueous dispersion medium, the nonionic surfactant having an HLB value of 10 or higher, and the basic compound to bring the pH of the aqueous dispersion into the 8.5-13 range.

The present invention relates to [1] a process for producing a pigment water dispersion, including step 1 of mixing a water dispersion (A) formed by dispersing a pigment (I) with a water-dispersible polymer and a water dispersion (B) of a self-dispersible pigment (II) to obtain a water dispersion (C); and step 2 of subjecting the water dispersion (C) obtained in the step 1 to heat treatment at a temperature of not lower than 40 C. to obtain the pigment water dispersion, and [2] a pigment water dispersion containing a pigment (I) dispersed with a water-dispersible polymer and a self-dispersible pigment (II), in which the water-dispersible polymer is adsorbed onto the pigment (I) and the self-dispersible pigment (II).

A thermal inkjet dye sublimation ink consists of a disperse dye colorant dispersion, a co-solvent system, an additive, and a balance of water. The colorant dispersion is present in an amount ranging from about 1 wt % actives to about 7 wt % actives. The co-solvent system is present in a total amount ranging from about 12 wt % to about 25 wt %. The co-solvent system consists of glycerol present in an amount ranging from about 9 wt % to about 16 wt %, ethoxylated glycerol present in an amount ranging from 0 wt % to about 5 wt %, and a water soluble or water miscible organic solvent present in an amount ranging from 0 wt % to about 7 wt %. The additive is selected from the group consisting of a surfactant, a chelating agent, a buffer, a biocide, and combinations thereof.
