AQUEOUS PIGMENT DISPERSION LIQUID
The present invention provides an aqueous pigment dispersion liquid being such that a pigment is finely dispersed, and the viscosity, and the particle diameters of the pigment are unlikely to fluctuate, being excellent in storage stability, and enabling preparation of an emulsion-polymerized toner having properly controlled particle diameters while improving the pigment utilization rate. The aqueous pigment dispersion liquid is an aqueous pigment dispersion liquid for an emulsion-polymerized toner containing a pigment, a dispersant, and an aqueous medium. The dispersant is a polymer containing a constitutional unit (A) derived from a monomer (A) such that a group containing a (meth)acryloyloxy group or the like is bonded to one end of a particular polyethylene glycol chain or the like, and a constitutional unit (B) derived from a monomer (B) having a carboxy group or the like, the polymer has a number average molecular weight in terms of polystyrene of 4,000 to 15,000, as measured by gel permeation chromatography, the polymer is contained in a state of being not ionized substantially, and the aqueous pigment dispersion liquid has a pH of 3.0 to 8.4.
Aqueous dispersion of colored particles
Provided is an aqueous dispersion of colored particles suitable for colorants for writing instrument inks, inkjet inks, painting materials, aqueous coatings, and the like. The aqueous dispersion of colored particles includes a polymer having at least a unit of a monomer derived from a dye having a polymerizable unsaturated group. The monomer derived from the dye is preferably derived from the compound represented by General Formula (1) below: ##STR00001##
where Dye represents a dye residue, R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group,
Y.sub.2 represents —O— or —NR.sub.10—, where R.sub.10 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group,
A.sub.1 represents an alkylene group which is unsubstituted or substituted by at least one group selected from —OCO—, —COO—, —NHCONH—, and the like in the chain thereof and/or at the terminal thereof, and/or a hydroxy group.
Configurable Coating System
A coating system includes, as separate components: (a) a hiding pigment-free basecoat composition, including: (i) a basecoat resin; and (ii) a liquid carrier; and (b) and/or (c) as follows: (b) a pigment slurry composition, including: (iii) a hiding pigment; (iv) a rheology modifier; and (v) a liquid carrier; (c) an extender pigment slurry composition, including: (vi) an extender pigment; (vii) a rheology modifier; and (viii) a liquid carrier. The rheology modifier (iv) and/or (vii) includes an organic rheology modifier and an inorganic rheology modifier. The separate components are not mixed together. A method of preparing a coating composition is also disclosed.
FIRE-RETARDANT ADDITIVE WITH FIBERS FOR WATER-BASED PAINTS
The present invention is related to a tire-retardant composition, specifically directed to an additive with natural fiber components which provide fire retardant properties to water-based paints.
Aqueous pigment dispersions
The present disclosure is drawn to aqueous pigment dispersions. In one example, an aqueous pigment dispersion can include from 40 wt % to 90 wt % water, from 2 wt % to 30 wt % organic co-solvent, from 7.5 wt % to 30 wt % copper phthalocyanine pigment, from 0.5 wt % to 5 wt % styrene-acrylic dispersant, and from 0.5 wt % to 5 wt % hydrophilic polyurethane dispersant having a weight average molecular weight from 10,000 Mw to 30,000 Mw. The styrene-acrylic dispersant and the hydrophilic polyurethane dispersant can be present at a weight ratio from 1:10 to 2:1.
Dispersant polymer and composition comprising the same
A polymer includes the reaction product of A, B, and C, and optionally D, wherein: A is a polyepoxide that is: the condensation product of phenol, formaldehyde, and epichlorohydrin; the condensation product of bisphenol A, formaldehyde, and epichlorohydrin; or a combination of said condensation products; B is at least one polyoxyalkylene with a terminal primary amine group wherein each polyoxyalkylene comprises an ethyleneoxy moiety and a propyleneoxy moiety and independently has the following structure: ##STR00001## wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 group, and wherein each of x and y is independently from 0 to about 500 and x+y>0; and C is an anchoring compound that is: a secondary amine; a monocarboxylic acid; a cyclic imide; or a combination thereof, and D is an alkylating agent. This polymer is included in a composition that further includes a compound such as a particulate solid.
OSIDIC DISPERSING AGENT
The invention relates to the field of dispersing agents for an aqueous composition, in particular for dispersing a mineral material in the form of particles. The dispersing agent according to the invention comprises a dispersing polymer combined with an osidic derivative or a derivative of saccharide origin. The invention also relates to an aqueous composition comprising said dispersing agent and a mineral material in the form of particles, and to the use of said agent or composition.
Dispersion, Ink Composition For Ink Jet Recording, And Dispersing Resin
A dispersion contains water, a color material, and a dispersing resin that disperses the color material, the dispersing resin having a structural unit A containing a hydrophobic monomer, a structural unit B containing a hydrophilic acrylic acid monomer, and a structural unit C containing a sulfonic acid group-containing acrylamide monomer, where the dispersing resin has a weight average molecular weight of from 5000 to 100000 and a content of the structural unit A is 60 mol % or more with respect to a total amount of the dispersing resin.
INKJET INK
An inkjet ink includes at least pigment particles, a resin, and water. Dispersed particles in the inkjet ink including the pigment particles have an average particle diameter of at least 90 nm and no greater than 100 nm. The resin has a mass ratio to the pigment particles of at least 0.05 and no greater than 0.10. The resin includes at least a repeating unit represented by formula (1) and a repeating unit represented by formula (2). A molar ratio of the repeating unit represented by the formula (2) to the repeating unit represented by the formula (1) is at least 0.35 and no greater than 0.80. EFFECT PIGMENT DISPERSION AND METHOD FOR FORMING MULTILAYER COATING FILM
The present invention provides an effect pigment dispersion that contains water, a wetting agent (A), a flake-effect pigment (B), and specific cellulose nanofibers (C). The effect pigment dispersion has a solids content of 0.1 to 10 parts by mass, per 100 parts by mass of all of the components of the effect pigment dispersion; and has a viscosity of 100 to 10000 mPa.Math.sec as measured with a Brookfield viscometer at a rotational speed of 6 revolutions per minute.
