Pyrotechnic iodine smoke generation for counter biological application
A biocidal and sporicidal smoke composition(s) using iodine oxide and metal powder is provided. This composition generates iodine gas or smoke as the primary biocidal agent, as well as metal oxides that provide additional biocidal properties. The smoke producing composition is suitable for pressing into canisters of compacted powder at a load pressure range of 1500 to 7500 psi and can be used for decontamination of spaces believed to be contaminated with biological agents. The composition is also suitable for use in hand grenades, smoke pots, rifle grenades, mortars, multiple launch grenades, shoulder fired missiles, and artillery rounds, as well as first responder and commercial biological decontamination applications.

Systems and methods for solvent-free delivery of volatile compounds
Provided are systems and methods for solvent-free delivery of volatile compounds, where an energy source is used to release the volatile compounds. The systems and methods provided herein have at least one advantage of (1) no solvent (for example water) is required; (2) immediate release of volatile compounds (for example 1-MCP can be released from HAIP within milliseconds or seconds instead of minutes or hours of the existing method using water); and/or (3) instantly starting and stopping the delivery of the volatile compound.

PYRETHROID COMPOUND CONTAINING DOUBLE BONDS AND CYANO GROUPS, SYNTHESIS METHOD THEREFOR, AND APPLICATION THEREOF
Disclosed are a pyrethroid compound containing a cyano group and a double bond, a synthesis method therefor and an application thereof. In the synthesis method, t-butyl 3-formyl-2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropanoate and cyanomethyl phosphonate are used as raw materials, undergo Witting-Horner reaction, undergo column chromatography to obtain t-butyl (Z)-3-(2-cyanovinyl)-2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropanoate ester, undergo deprotection to obtain (Z)-3-(2-cyanovinyl)-2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropanoic acid, undergo acyl chlorination reaction to produce (Z)-3-(2-cyanovinyl)-2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropanoyl chloride, and are esterified with corresponding alcohol to obtain the pyrethroid compound. The compound can be used as an insecticide against pests such as mosquitoes, flies, German cockroaches and the like.
Rodent gasser with self-ignition system and method of using the same
A rodent gasser including a smoke cartridge and having a self ignition system is provided. According to a first embodiment, the self ignition system has a top plastic cap covering a strike pad and a lower plastic shroud that protects the rodent gasser ignition system prior to use. An ignition button is provided under the shroud that works with the strike pad to ignite the smoke cartridge. According to a second embodiment, the self ignition system has a top plastic cap covering activation components of a pull pin ignition system that include a gripping element and a connecting element that couples the gripping element to an internal ignition assembly. The gasser is ignited by pulling the gripping element. A method of using the rodent gasser is also provided.
