NEUTRALIZED MULTI-AMINE DISPERSANT COMPOSITIONS
Described are compositions including: (a) a polymeric dispersant including: (i) an average of at least two polyether pendant groups per molecule; and (ii) an average of at least two amine groups per molecule; and (b) a functionalized acid component including sulfonic acid and/or phosphoric acid functionalized with at least one of an aromatic functional group or a fatty functional group; and wherein at least about 60 percent of the amine groups present in the polymeric dispersant are each individually neutralized with a molecule of the functionalized acid component. Also described are pigment dispersions and/or ink formulations including these compositions, as well as various methods of making and/or using the compositions, pigment dispersions, and/or ink formulations.
Coatings for Increasing Near-Infrared Detection Distances
A method for increasing a detection distance of a surface of an object illuminated by near-IR electromagnetic radiation, including: (a) directing near-IR electromagnetic radiation from a near-IR electromagnetic radiation source towards an object at least partially coated with a near-IR reflective coating that increases a near-IR electromagnetic radiation detection distance by at least 15% as measured at a wavelength in a near-IR range as compared to the same object coated with a color matched coating which absorbs more of the same near-IR radiation, where the color matched coating has a ?E color matched value of 1.5 or less when compared to the near-IR reflective coating; and (b) detecting reflected near-IR electromagnetic radiation reflected from the near-IR reflective coating. A system for detecting proximity of vehicles is also disclosed.
Universal pigment preparation
A universal pigment preparation including a flocculation-stabilizing medium including (a1) reaction products of di- or polycarboxylic acids or hydroxycarboxylic acids with di- or polyols, and (a2) reaction products of alkylene oxides with alkoxylatable compounds, and at least one pigment. Paints, varnishes, printing inks, coating materials, floor coatings, potting compounds and filling compounds may be made using the universal pigment preparation.
HALOGEN-FREE QUATERNARY AMINES AND USES THEREOF
The present disclosure provides an aqueous composition comprising a quaternary amine compound neutralized with a polycarboxylic acid. The aqueous composition is particularly useful for inerting clay in cement compositions as well as compatibilzing pigments in pigment dispersions.
Oswald system
A continuous bubbling fluid bed process converts biomass feedstocks into energy/heat, engineered biochar particles (including nanoparticles) and a vapor stream of organic compounds. The products have a multitude of applications determined by the specific conditions at which the process was operated, specifically controlling: temperature, catalysts, residence time, element and compound concentrations, and withdraw of products from various points in the system. The introduction of air, steam, and various gases into the vessel at selected locations and at controlled rates enables the economic, dependable and consistent production of these products.
Pigment dispersant for coating
Described herein is a polymeric pigment dispersant, a process for preparation of the polymeric pigment dispersant and a pigment dispersion including the pigment dispersant that is used for coating and in printing ink, automotive basecoat, auto-motive clearcoat, mill base, furniture coatings and wood coatings.
AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION FOR AUTOMOTIVE EXTERIOR
An aqueous coating composition for automotive exterior, the aqueous coating composition containing resin particles (A), a crosslinking agent (B), a pigment (C), and a nanocellulose (D). In the aqueous coating composition, a content of the nanocellulose (D) is 0.5 to 2.0 parts by mass in terms of solid content with respect to 100 parts by mass of a resin solid content in the coating, a solid content concentration of the coating composition is in a range from 45 to 65 mass %, and a viscosity of the coating composition measured by a Brookfield-type viscometer under measurement conditions of a temperature of 20? C. and a rotor rotation speed of 60 rpm is in a range from 350 to 1200 mPa.Math.s.
PIGMENT COMPOSITE PARTICLE, WEATHER RESISTANT COATING COMPOSITION AND WEATHER RESISTANT STRUCTURE EMPLOYING THE SAME
A pigment composite particle is provided. The pigment composite particle is a covalently bonded product of a crosslinking structure having silicon-oxygen bonds and a plurality of organic pigment particles. The plurality of organic pigment particles are dispersed in the crosslinking structure. The chemical structure of the organic pigment particle includes CO and one or more structures selected from the groups defined in the specification. A weather resistant coating composition and a weather resistant structure employing the same are also provided.
