Quick-drying, tacky polymer film compositions and methods of use
A formulation for coating surfaces, for example gloves, with a tacky film comprises a hydrophobically modified biopolymer, where the hydrophobic modifications of the biopolymer correspond to between 1 and 90% of available functional groups, a plasticizer, and a volatile solvent. The formulation quickly dries into a tacky film that provides an enhanced friction of the surface.
Method for coating metal surfaces of substrates and objects coated according to said method
The invention relates to a method for coating surfaces, to a corresponding coating, and to the use of the objects coated according to said method. According to the invention, the method has or consists of the following steps: I. providing a substrate with a cleaned surface, II. contacting and coating the surfaces with an aqueous composition in the form of a dispersion and/or suspension, VI. if necessary rinsing the organic coating, and VII. drying and/or baking the organic coating or VIII. if necessary drying the organic coating and carrying out a coating process using a similar or additional coating composition prior to a drying and/or baking process, wherein between step I and step II, the coating process is carried out using an aqueous composition in the form of a dispersion and/or suspension on the basis of a colloidal silicate sol, which incorporates multivalent metal cations, or a silane- or silicate-modified polymer and if necessary a rinsing process is carried out.

STABILIZING METHODS FOR COATING SEEDS WITH BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS
The present invention provides a method for coating seeds with biological materials such as bacteria, fungi (e.g., yeasts and molds), parasites, recombinant vectors, and viruses. The method comprises (a) applying a moistening liquid to seeds to moisten seeds, wherein the moistening liquid comprises a moistening polymer, and (b) coating the moistened seeds with an effective amount of a dry composition, wherein the dry composition comprises biological materials, one or more disaccharides, one or more oligosaccharides, one or more polysaccharides, one or more carboxylic acid salts, and one or more hydrolyzed proteins. The coated seeds may have an initial water activity (Aw) below 0.4, and the microorganisms on the coated seeds have initial viability of at least 5 logs of colony forming units per gram of seeds (CFU/g seed). Also provided are coated seeds.
Capsule containing beverage powder, in particular for preparing brewed coffee
A capsule for preparing a beverage from beverage powder, such as coffee from coffee powder, by introducing water into the capsule. The capsule includes a compacted pellet made of a powder containing at least one polysaccharide. The compacted pellet is sheathed with at least one coating layer that includes a cross-linked polysaccharide. The cross-linked polysaccharide can be obtained by cross-linking a polysaccharide with a cross-linking agent without the use of a polyol spacer. Also disclosed are methods for manufacturing such a capsule.
