A surface-treated metal sheet for polyolefin adhesion is provided with a metal sheet, a first layer provided on at least one surface of the metal sheet, and a second layer provided on the first layer, wherein the first layer containing an epoxy resin and a blocked isocyanate, the second layer containing an acid-modified polyolefin resin, the thickness of the first layer being 15 to 40 ?m, and the thickness of the second layer being 4 to 30 ?m.

The present invention relates to a multilayered film having a high degree of freedom regarding selection of a material and a decoration method, which is not only excellent in handling properties and low-temperature adhesiveness to adherends of various materials but also applicable to decorative molding of every sort in a three-dimensional solid shape, and a method for producing the same. The present invention provides a multilayered film including, as an intermediate layer (X), a thermoplastic resin layer having a bending rigidity of 60 to 30,000 kPa.Math.mm.sup.3; a layer (Y) composed of a thermoplastic polymer composition on both surfaces of the intermediate layer (X), the thermoplastic polymer composition containing 0 to 50 parts by mass of a polypropylene-based resin (B) based on 100 parts by mass of a thermoplastic elastomer (A) that is a block copolymer containing a polymer block (a1) composed of an aromatic vinyl compound unit and a polymer block (a2) composed of a conjugated diene compound unit; and a decorative layer (Z) closely arranged on the surface of either one of the layers (Y). The present invention also provides a method for producing the multilayered film, including bringing the thermoplastic resin layer (Y) as a surface layer in a molten state into contact with a roll whose surface is made of a hydrophobic resin.
Optical film comprising primer layer containing polyester resin and polarizing plate using same
The present invention relates to an optical film including: a base material film; and a primer layer containing a polyester resin and water-dispersible minute particulates on at least one surface of the base material film and having a refractive index difference of 0.03 or less from the base material film, in which the polyester resin includes polyester glycol formed by a reaction of polybasic acid including an aromatic carboxylic acid compound and an aliphatic carboxylic acid compound at a mole ratio of 1:9 to 9:1 and polyol, adhesion force between the optical film and a functional coating layer is excellent, and a rainbow phenomenon is reduced and an optical property is excellent due to a small refractive index difference.

The instant invention provides a coating composition, a process of making a coating composition, a coated article, and a method of forming such articles.
The coating composition according to the present invention comprises a dispersion comprising: (a) a core comprising a base polymer; (b) a shell at least partially surrounding said core, wherein said shell comprising a polar polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers embedded at least partially in said shell.
The process for making a coating composition according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (1) selecting a base polymer; (2) selecting a polar polymeric stabilizing agent; (3) selecting one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers; (4) melt-blending said base polymer, said polar polymeric stabilizing agent, and said one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers; (4) contacting said melt-blended base polymer, polar polymeric stabilizing agent and one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers with water and optionally in the presence of a neutralizing agent; (5) thereby forming said dispersion comprising: (a) a core comprising said base polymer; (b) a shell at least partially surrounding said core, wherein said shell comprising said polar polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) said one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers embedded at least partially in said shell.
The coated article according to the present invention comprises: a substrate comprising cellulose base material; and a dispersion on at least one surface of said substrate, wherein said dispersion comprises: (a) a core comprising a base polymer; (b) a shell at least partially surrounding said core, wherein said shell comprising a polar polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers embedded at least partially in said shell.
The method of making a coated article according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (1) providing a substrate comprising cellulose base material (2) providing a coating composition comprising a dispersion comprising: (a) a core comprising a base polymer; (b) a shell at least partially surrounding said core, wherein said shell comprising a polar polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) one or more hydrophobic particulate fillers embedded at least partially in said shell; (3) applying said coating composition to at least one surface of said substrate; and (4) thereby making said coated article.

Provided is an insulated electric wire, a wire harness, and a composition for an electric wire coating material with which the amount of a filler, which is the flame retardant, can be reduced as much as possible without using electron beam crosslinking, the composition having a high heat resistance, a high gel fraction, flexibility, and good workability of assembling a wire harness. An electric wire coating material is made of a composition comprising (A) a silane-grafted polyolefin obtained by grafting a silane coupling agent onto a polyolefin having a density of 0.855 to 0.885 g/cm.sup.3, (B) an unmodified polyolefin having a density of 0.890 to 0.955 g/cm.sup.3, (C) a modified polyolefin modified by one or more functional groups selected from a carboxylic acid group, an acid anhydride group, an amino group, an acrylic group, a methacrylic group, and an epoxy group, (D) a bromine-based flame retardant and antimony trioxide, (E) a crosslinking catalyst batch, (F) zinc oxide and an imidazole-based compound, or zinc sulfide, (G) an antioxidant, (H) a metal deactivator, and (I) a lubricant.

Aqueous multi-stage copolymer compositions for use in leather topcoats
The present invention provides aqueous composition comprising a multi-stage acrylic emulsion polymer having a first stage polymer of from 0.5 to 4 wt. %, based on the total weight of monomers used to make the first stage polymer, of a copolymerized carboxylic acid or salt group containing monomer, and having 10 to 30 wt. %, on total solids of the multi-stage acrylic emulsion polymer, of a second stage polymer of from 3 to 15 wt. % of a copolymerized hydroxyl group containing monomer, the first stage polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) of less than 10 C. and the second stage polymer having a Tg (DMA) of greater than 80 C.; and (ii) from 25 to 75 wt. %, based on the total solids weight of the multi-stage acrylic polymer, of a polyurethane.
