The invention relates to thermosetting powder coating compositions as these are disclosed herein. The compositions comprise A) unsaturated resin(s) comprising ethylenic unsaturations selected from the group consisting of polyester resins, polyurethanes, epoxy resins, polyamides, polyesteramides, polycarbonates, polyureas and mixtures thereof; and B) curing agent(s) selected from the group consisting of certain vinyl urethanes, vinyl functionalized urethane resins and mixtures thereof; and C) thermal radical initiator(s) selected from the group consisting of organic peroxides, azo compounds, and mixtures thereof; and D) co-initiator(s) selected from the group consisting of certain onium compounds, sulpho-compounds, and mixtures thereof; and E) inhibitor(s) selected from the group consisting of phenolic compounds, stable radicals, catechols, phenothiazines, hydroquinones, benzoquinones and mixtures thereof. The invention further relates to a process for making said thermosetting powder coating compositions and processes for coating an article with said thermosetting powder coating compositions. The invention further relates to cured thermosetting powder coating compositions obtained by curing of the thermosetting powder coating compositions of the invention. The invention further relates to an article having coated thereon said thermosetting powder coating composition as well as to an article having coated and cured thereon said thermosetting powder coating composition. The invention further relates to the use of said thermosetting powder coating compositions, to the use of an article having coated thereon said thermosetting powder coating compositions and to the use of an article having coated and cured thereon said thermosetting powder coating compositions. Provided herein are methods, compositions, devices, and systems for the 3D printing of biomedical implants. In particular, methods and systems are provided for 3D printing of biomedical devices (e.g., endovascular stents) using photo-curable biomaterial inks (e.g., or methacrylated poly(diol citrate)).

FUNCTIONAL POLYESTER AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME

There is described a method for the production of a functional polyester having functional group X. The method comprises the step of melt blending a composition comprising (i) a high number average molecular weight (Mn) polyester having a Mn of ≥6,000 Da; and (ii) a functional compound comprising functional group Y which may be the same as functional group X or be different to functional group X but be operable to form functional group X in the functional polyester. The composition is melt blended such that the high Mn polyester and the functional compound react to produce the functional polyester. The high Mn polyester has a Mn that is higher than the Mn of the functional compound. The present invention extends to functional polyesters produced by the method; aqueous, solventborne and powder coating compositions containing the functional polyester, and articles coated with the said coating compositions.
