A magnetic closure system includes first and second opposing bodies with permanent magnets disposed on or in sloping surfaces of the bodies to keep the bodies in contact until being pulled apart. The bodies may be rigid, semi-rigid or flexible strips or elongated structures comprised of separate blocks, each block having two divergent sloping surfaces. Whether in strip or block form, each body may be adapted for attachment to a flexible material or fabric, such that the opposing bodies form a magnetic zipper. The magnetic closure system many be used in conjunction with many products, including clothing, curtains, bags, backpacks, purses, mats, tiles, or any other situation wherein materials or fabrics are joined.

NON-INTERLOCKING MAGNETIC ZIPPER

A non-interlocking magnetic zipper is provided which incorporates a first and second magnetic strip that connect together in response to movement of a magnetic slider which receives the second strip. The second strip includes a flexible, magnetic flap that is configured to repel the first strip and disable the magnetic attraction between the first and second strips based on the position of the slider. In operation, as the slider moves proximally along the second strip, the flap moves away from the first strip, thereby removing the repulsive force against the first strip and allowing the first and second strip to connect and close the zipper. Similarly, as the magnetic slider moves distally along the second strip, the flap moves back towards the first strip, thereby renewing the repulsive force against the first strip and allowing the first and second strips to disconnect and open the zipper.

A non-interlocking magnetic zipper is provided which incorporates a first and second magnetic strip that connect together in response to movement of a magnetic slider which receives the second strip. MOISTURE PROTECTED ENCLOSURE COMPONENTS

A zipper assembly is provided that can include an elongated base that may be coupled with a panel of an enclosure, and interlocking elements protruding from the base that can alternate between a mated state while coupled with other interlocking elements of another base and an unmated state while separated from the other interlocking elements of the other base to alternately close and open the enclosure. One or more of the base or the interlocking elements may include a core and at least a partial outer layer. The core can be formed from a core material having a higher water solubility than an outer material from which the outer layer is formed.

MOISTURE PROTECTED ENCLOSURE COMPONENTS

A zipper assembly is provided that can include an elongated base that may be coupled with a panel of an enclosure, and interlocking elements protruding from the base that can alternate between a mated state while coupled with other interlocking elements of another base and an unmated state while separated from the other interlocking elements of the other base to alternately close and open the enclosure. One or more of the base or the interlocking elements may include a core and at least a partial outer layer. The core can be formed from a core material having a higher water solubility than an outer material from which the outer layer is formed.
