mixing a composition to be mixed containing water, an alum, sodium edetate, a polyacrylic acid, and a neutralized polyacrylic acid such that a mixing temperature becomes 5 to 23° C., to obtain an adhesive layer composition, wherein

in the composition to be mixed,

a content of the water is 69 to 938.24% by mass relative to a total mass of the composition to be mixed,

a content of the alum is 0.18 to 0.42% by mass relative to the total mass of the composition to be mixed,

a content of the sodium edetate is 0.08 to 0.18% by mass relative to the total mass of the composition to be mixed, and

a mass ratio between the content of the alum and the content of the sodium edetate (the content of the alum:the content of the sodium edetate) is 1:1 to 5.25:1.

DOUBLE PASS PROCESS OF MAKING A SELF ADHERING ROOFING MEMBRANE WITH IMPROVED ADHESION AT LOWER INSTALLATION TEMPERATURE

A self-adhering roofing membrane may include a polymeric membrane. The roofing membrane may include a first adhesive layer disposed on a major surface of the polymeric membrane. The first adhesive layer may include one or both of a hot melt adhesive and a butyl rubber-based adhesive. The roofing membrane may include a UV curable adhesive layer disposed on the first adhesive layer. The UV curable adhesive layer may have a thickness of less than about 4 mils.

ADHERABLE FILM AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF

An adherable film includes a substrate that is substantially free of a flame retardant material and has a top major surface and a bottom major surface. An adhesive layer disposed on the bottom major surface of the substrate has a continuous pattern. The adhesive layer is made of an adhesive that is substantially free of a flame retardant material. In a plan view, the continuous pattern defines a plurality of discontinuous non-adhesive portions of the substrate without the adhesive. Each discontinuous non-adhesive portion is completely surrounded by the continuous pattern. The adherable film including the adhesive layer having the continuous pattern exhibits an improved flame retarding characteristic relative to a discontinuous adherable film having a substrate with a same material composition as that of the substrate of the adherable film and a discontinuous adhesive layer with a same material composition as that of the adhesive layer of the adherable film.

METHOD FOR PREPARING AN ADHESIVE TAPE OR MOLDING MASS

A polymerizable composition which may be used as an adhesive mass in a method for preparing an adhesive tape or as molding mass in a method for preparing molded articles is provided. The polymerizable composition contains: A) a thermal cationic initiator, or B) a combination of a cationic photoinitiator and a thermal free-radical initiator for inducing the polymerization of the cationically polymerizable monomers in such an amount that the heat energy released during polymerization is sufficient for cleaving the thermal initiator. The adhesive mass is curable via a local impulse a) of thermal energy orb) of thermal energy and/or radiation energy through frontal polymerization; or the molding mass is initially prepared by mixing all components and then molded into the desired shape, whereafter its frontal polymerization is induced by a local impulse a) of thermal energy and/or b) of radiation energy in order to prepare a cured molded article.
