Nanocomposite elastomers
A composite material comprising an elastomer and nanocellulose. The nanocellulose may comprise a nanocellulose material derived from plants having C4 leaf anatomy, or a nanocellulose material derived from a plant material having a lesser amount of lignin than hemicellulose, or a nanocellulose having a hemicellulose content of from 25% to 55% by weight of the nanocellulose material, or a nanocellulose comprising nanofibrils having a diameter of up to 5 nm, or a nanocellulose comprising nanocellulose material of plant origin comprising nanocellulose particles or fibres having an aspect ratio of at least 250, or the composite material having a stiffness of not greater than 2.5 times the stiffness of the elastomer without the nanocellulose material being present, or the nanocellulose particles or fibres being derived from a plant material having a hemicellulose content of 30% or higher (w/w). The nanocellulose may be derived from arid Spinifex.

An aqueous adhesive composition and a process for preparing such compositions are disclosed. The composition comprises macromolecular complex comprising (A) a first component comprising (i) a framework element and (ii) a polyphenol, and (B) second component comprising a polypeptide, oligopeptide, amino acid, or polyamine. The framework element comprises (a) a polypeptide, oligopeptide, amino acid, or polyamine, (b) a polysaccharide, oligosaccharide, or monosaccharide, or a saccharide conjugate, or (c) a lignin, a lignan or a lignin conjugate. The polyphenol comprises a tannin, a tannic acid, a flavonoid, or a poly-resorcinol. An adhesive precursor composition comprising the first component is also disclosed.

ADHESIVE HAVING A LONG PROCESSING TIME AND STABLE VISCOSITY
A polymerizable adhesive composition containing an olefinically functionalized carbohydrate, a polymerizable liquid monomer, and optionally at least one polymerization initiator or initiator system is described. The adhesive composition is particularly well suited for adhering plastic components as well as is preferably provided with sufficiently long processing time for adhering artificial teeth on denture bases. The viscosity of the adhesive composition may be adjusted to the respected processing conditions.

A polymerizable adhesive composition containing an olefinically functionalized carbohydrate, a polymerizable liquid monomer, and optionally at least one polymerization initiator or initiator system is described. The viscosity of the adhesive composition may be adjusted to the respected processing conditions.
