GREEN WOOD ADHESIVE
The present invention relates to an adhesive aqueous composition comprising a polysaccharide or a residual fraction from a pulping process comprising polysaccharide and an amine-functional polymer. The weight ratio between the polysaccharide and the amine-functional polymer is from 1:4 to 4:1; wherein the polysaccharideis hemicellulose or gum and with proviso that the composition has a pH of 6 or less when the amine-functional polymer is chitosan.

The present invention is directed to a biodegradable tough adhesive material comprising an interpenetrating networks (IPN) hydrogel comprising a first polymer network and a second polymer network, wherein the first polymer network comprises a first polymer covalently crosslinked with a biodegradable covalent crosslinker and the second polymer network comprises a second polymer crosslinked with ionic or physical crosslinks; a high density primary amine polymer; and a coupling agent. The present invention also provides methods preparing and using the biodegradable tough adhesive material.
USE OF BONDING RESIN
The present invention relates to the use of a bonding resin prepared by providing an aqueous solution comprising at least one biobased product selected from tannin, starch, soy protein, glycerol, chitin, pectin, dextrose or other carbohydrates, or a mixture thereof and mixing the aqueous solution with one or more of certain crosslinkers such as ethers, and optionally one or more additives. The bonding resin is used in the manufacture of laminates, mineral wool insulation or wood products, such as engineered wood products, such as plywood, oriented strandboard (OSB), laminated veneer lumber (LVL), medium density fiberboards (MDF), high density fiberboards (HDF) or particle boards. Preferably, the bonding resin does not comprise lignin.
